Watson on First Team.
I was there for the saturday mourning practise, I though Watson looked good out there barking out orders, he look like he was taking controll.

Watson on First Team.
Asking Courtney Watson to be the leader on defense this year is a tall, if not impossible order. Courtney has not even proven himself to be an NFL starter yet.
Maybe Courtney is one of those special guys that are natural born leaders, but even if so, no one is going to follow him if he\'s not able to perform at a high level. Leadership usually comes from veteran players that are proven. You could have General MacArthur at MLB but unless he can play, no one will listen to him. Ray Lewis wasn\'t even considered the leader in his first year. Now, what Courtney Watson can do is make sure everyone is lined up in the correct defense. And that should certainly help. But, that\'s not leadership. Leadership is the ability to get others to follow when the odds are against you. When things are going good, everyone is happy. But, when the stuff hits the fan, that\'s when leadership is key. |

I truly believe leaders are born and cannot be made. If Watson is that one so be it. You don\'t have to have experience in any given situation to lead your men through it. I know this first hand, Marine Corps. I followed many butter bars just out of Officer\'s Candidate School who were younger than me and had never been in certain situations before, not even in training, but they had the vision to get us through and people listened to them because they were the ones doing the talking, not because they had experience.
So, if Courtney\'s is the one that want\'s to bark, let him keep barkin! |
