I am impressed with our running game today. And Hartley knocking down a +50 yarder. Our special teams were pretty good today from what I could tell.

Some good, but more bad today and last week. We can't pressure a QB for jack-piss, but WAS and CAR sure can pressure ours. We're losing on the line of scrimmage on both sides. If this don't change, I see a bad moon arisin'.

Barry you are right both lines are not getting it done. pressure up the middle and the outside in drew's face both games.
The d, I'm not saying anymore about them today. They are just bad.

Why would you want that? Our safeties are the least of our worries on defense.

459 yards given up week 1
463 week two... Least of our worries?

If this season ends up being a bust..we need a stud on the line. Someone other teams have to game plan for. Where has Smith been? He just as well be suspended because he ain't doing sh!t! As long as he is here, we will never know what Tez could do. Did he even play today other than ST?

Speaking of Roby... Was I hallucinating or did he have a catch?

He has good hands!

This maybe a frustrating season.

I feel like a giants fan.

"SUPER BOWL CHAMPION GIANTS"

*next season*

"THREE INT AGAINST THE BUCS ARE YOU KIDDING ELI?"

I feel like one day ,somehow, I have no idea how,

the giants will win the super bowl with a record of 2-14.

The 0-2 start honestly does not concern me all that much... really. We can come back from it if we play real Saints ball.

What truly concerns me is what I see when looking at the players on the field and how we are playing regardless of the score. It's not like these are close losses. They are blow-outs and the passion I see from the players is worse than the passion I see from the coaches. So, regardless of our record, and just using what I see from our players on the field we have no chance this season unless we get some passion out of our guys.

I like what you are saying. I know I am sounding like a broken record tonight, but Joe Vitt = passion. He is literally the guy that Payton sends to yell at people for him. Players fear him, respect him, and listen when he talks. He is a piece we are missing along with Payton right now. I think when he comes back the team will look a lot more Payton-like, meaner, tougher, smarter, fewer mistakes, all that type of stuff.

It may be too late by then...

No seriously. We are two coaches short of every other team in the league right now. Think about that. The defense IS going to get better when Vitt comes back, and the offense will get better when Kromer can go back to focusing on coaching the O-line, like he's supposed to.

May be too late by then.

Our D Always Takes A Turn...For Example Our D Line Is Weak But Our Secondary Is Great....(Sharper,Porter, Greer) And Now Its The Opposite...Our Front Four Are Okay But Its Our Secondary That Is Absolutely Horrible...We Need A Better Nickel DB...And I Honestly Think We're Still Ok...We Just Need A Couple Of Wins Before Joe Vitt Gets Back...He Actually Knows How To Yell At People...A Firm Coach Is All We Need Right Now

There's so much I'm tempted to say, but it would just be redundant because it was almost exactly the same as last week in every way. The only difference is we ran the ball better this week. Trouble is we had to abandon it, thanks to our "defense". The three key additions (or at least I thought they would be key) on D appear to have made no difference, thus far.

That's a "blow out"?

They are not blow outs but the games have not really been as close as the scores suggest either.
Both games have been 15pts leads cut with under 2mins left.
While the Defense continues to part like the red sea on every drive its going to be a long season.

Don't kid yourself... Both games we were outplayed on many levels. Although minor plays could have affected the outcome in both games, I still feel washington and Carolina controlled both games.

how do you not figure cam newton is going to RUN? if its goal to go. HE'S RUNNING. dont even bother with those receivers. COVER THE RUN. hes not a quarterback. he's a runner.

It feels to me like they maybe OVER estimated RGIII as a runner and then UNDER estimated Cam as a runner. Just a thought. You're right, there's no way Cam should be able to run in untouched for a goal line TD that the WHOLE WORLD knows is coming.

This is where I giggle my self to death...

Stat haters using stats to justify how badly we are.

Lets not group our Offense with our Defense.

Presently I think our Offense and Defense should take separate buses.

The Offense is good.
The Defense has glimmers of Good but just needs to buy into Spags and pull it together.

I'm hoping the D ques in like they did for Sprag in New York. A little more time, hopefully. Looks like a swiss cheese wheel right now.

Re: Welcome To 0-2

I think our struggle with RG and Cam is because they run a college option attack. Instead of playing zone we should have been playing man. Would the outcome have been better? Who knows...I think the lack of halftime adjustments is killing us.

The offense stayed the course mostly. If anything, they should have started the hurry up offense way sooner than waiting until 4 min left.
The defense stays the course from start to finish, no matter how bad we are doing. I just don't see any adjustments to try and stop the other team. If zone d is not working through the first half guess what, it won't work in the second half either. Maybe I am off base but I just don't think we are making any adjustments on the D side of the ball when they are clearly struggling.

we only lost by 8 because we scored late in the 4th in both games. 35-20 mid way through the 4th quarter is the biggest blow-out the Saints have seen in the last 6 years.

At this point, I'd take blow out. I was discouraged before the end of the 1st quarter in both games.

Not since the g(l)ory years of the 60's, 70's, 80's and 2000's have I felt this disparing. Talent galore, but inept beyond prediction.
