5. When our opponents offenses are having news worthy outings against our defense I have trouble blaming the offense.

6. When our offense is averaging 422 yards and 30 points per game, I have trouble blaming them.

So yea.... Empirically it is the defense.

The second pick-6 was a team effort. Drew had to rush his throw because of lack of protection. Despite that, he threw a ball that was high, but catchable. Colston got annihilated and couldn't hold make the catch (still not sure how that wasn't a hit on a defenseless receiver...I really don't get that rule sometimes). After the pick it seemed like no one on the team even tried to make the tackle.

I still don't get why we seem to give up on the run so quickly. We were averaging, what, 3-4 yards/carry? Not exactly burning up the stat sheet, but enough to keep defenses honest.
