I was the same way bro. I defended the boys saying that Things run aouto pilot without coach but i think that is proving itself wrong

Re: We need Coach - it's that simple
It's looking like a long shot but I think if we can just eke it out to 3-3 by the time Vitt comes back, I think we still have a shot. It almost HAS to improve and look more "Payton-like" when Vitt comes back, because he is the ONLY one who has been with Payton since day one here. He is the consigliere and Right Hand Man. Not Kromer, not Carmichael. Vitt is the one who can authentically look at a question or game plan and figure out "What Would Payton Do?" He's been there in the trenches, putting in the long hours and late nights with Payton, when it's just the two of them in the film room, through all the good and bad. He's not just a linebackers coach. He's also kinda salty and crazy in the head, he's kind of scary, which is what I think this team needs more than anything else.
People kept saying in the chat today how bad the O-line looks, it really does.. And I think it has to do with Kromer having too much on his plate...maybe he can't devote the time to it, so the O-line is sorta running on autopilot right now. In game adjustments, planning for the individual matchups, schemes, breaking down film on defensive lines, all that detail stuff, etc. I wonder how he does that AND coach the whole team at the same time. I know if I had to do all that, something would suffer. When Vitt comes back we at least have a chance at having a SEMI-NORMAL sideline and locker room structure. People need to understand that right now it is NOT normal out there. Vitt is the guy who yells and busts people's chops and does Payton's bidding. Vitt does the nitty gritty stuff of coaching, like reaming somebody out after a bad play or getting in somebody's face,or seeing a problem in practice and fixing it before it hits the field. The team respects and fears him almost as much as Payton. And REMEMBER, it's not like Benson fired Payton and Vitt, and promoted Kromer, and said okay fans, we approve this and this is the product we are putting on the field, all you suckers, enjoy your new Saints. They didn't. Goodell did this. |
