Re: Question for the Bandwagon Fans & Brees Blamers!
DREW all the way for me! He's doing the best he can and always gives 100%
Yes he's made a few mistakes but so have his receivers when they have dropped very catchable passes. Lets see what happens in the Dome this Sunday before everyone goes into panic mode! I have to admit though that it does hurt to see the Falcons 2-0 at the top of the division and the Saints 0-2 at the bottom of the division. Anyway, you should all know by now that its never easy being a Saints fan, its always a roller coaster ride of ups and downs! . . . . . . . but it is great fun! GEAUX SAINTS!!!! |

Re: Question for the Bandwagon Fans & Brees Blamers!
I'll be the first to praise when you're on, and ask WTF when you're off.
Simply put: Drew is off From where I sit: 1) He's getting a lot of passes batted at the line. Perhaps he's not seeing his throwing lanes like last year, but his ability to sight and release appears slower 2) He's forcing plays where there is none. Shovel passes where you're in trouble 3 or more times a game (a la Brett Favre) is not what he does best. And half of his pics so far were throws into double coverage. 3) He's holding onto the ball too long looking deep (or for Jimmy). He's not slipping the inital rush to buy that extra 2 seconds for some unknown reason either and its getting him into pressure trouble. Whatever happened to Moore doing quick slants for 5 yds? When all else fails, small ball moves the chains. And someone needs to let him know that it's OK to tuck and run the ball for 12 yds every once in a while. 4) He appears to lack confidence in his timing patterns this year, unlike previous seasons. His knack for releasing the ball with vision knowing his receiver was going to be there made him LETHAL since he's been on the team. Not seeing it this year. The D does not in any way get a mulligan on their play thus far, but either of those games is won without turning the ball over in key situations. Also, on a side note: RUN THE DAMN BALL!!!!! |

2. This is a function of our defense not being able to make anyone punt. 3. Receivers are getting tied up and not getting separation. 4. His timing is off... He cant throw to where the receivers are supposed to be because they are not there (hardly a drew item). He lacks focus and confidence because our o-line is a turn style. |

Re: Question for the Bandwagon Fans & Brees Blamers!
I keep hearing a lot about how many points our O is putting up, versus how poorly our D is playing. Granted, our D is playing awful, but if you think our O isn't to blame, you are nuts. How many sustained drives have we had versus 3 and outs? What's our 3rd down percentage? How many offensive turnovers have we had? Our Offense has not done much to help our Defense out. We all knew there would be growing pains w/ the Spags Defense. I don't think anyone expected the Offense to look as bad as it does. Brees is the leader of our Offense, especially w/o SP, so I think it's natural for folks to look at Brees when trying to pinpoint the "problem".
And another thing, some people are "glass half full", some people are "the sky is falling", some are a combination of both. Either way, doesn't mean you are a bandwagon fan. Just because you are optimistic, doesn't mean you are a real fan, either... |

Re: Question for the Bandwagon Fans & Brees Blamers!
I think stats two games into the season are worthless. I still stand behind what I wrote, and what I see with my own two eyes. It's NOT all on the Defense. It's a lot, but not all...
