What’s an ideal game for you from a touch standpoint?
“It doesn’t matter. If my name is getting called, I’m touching the ball. Anytime I touch it I’m going to take advantage of it. Any chance I get. You have a nice rotation going with a lot of backs we use. I know those touches are limited. Anytime I get to touch it, I’m going to make sure that I make it count and last week I did that. One of my goals for this year is making every run count.” You’ve been described as a slithery, tough guy to bring down. Have you always been viewed that way? “I can see that. Throughout my career, even in high school it was like that. A lot of people say I’m a freakish runner. They say I run wild. I already know my running style is ugly. I say that myself and look at myself and say I run ugly. I don’t have a nice form like a lot of these guys. But it works for me. Whatever works for me I’m going to stick with it. I’m just blessed with this talent and going out and taking advantage of it on the field.” Can you finger what is wrong with this team? “There’s really nothing wrong. We just have to stay focused. That’s the main thing. The first week, we look back and see what our mistakes were. I have to say that most of our mistakes were penalties. That put us in a hole and I say we progressed, because this past week when we played Carolina, we didn’t have as many penalties. I say we move forward, but I say probably out biggest mistake against Carolina was not finishing, which we have to do.” Continue reading |

Re: Pierre Thomas: "That's Our Whole Focus, To Win The Game"
Well not kidding Pierre, I figure thats every teams focus.
That put us in a hole and I say we progressed, because this past week when we played Carolina, we didn’t have as many penalties. Thats what I have been saying. Now if we can fix the dropped passes our offense will be ok. The defense on the other hand... |

Re: Pierre Thomas: "That's Our Whole Focus, To Win The Game"
PT needs to take this whole team on his shoulders and carry them down the field, because the rest of them ain't doing squat right now.
I really don't understand why, when the offense goes into its patented 3 and out mode in the 2nd or 3rd quarter, why don't they just give the ball to Thomas a few more times, and let him carry the load; have him bash into some people, push them back, make some people miss, which will calm everybody on the offense down and get something going. Instead, whenever the momentum shifts against us, they keep going with these jittery, crazy pass plays where the O-line falls apart, screens thrown into the ground and hasty checkdowns short of the first down marker, and we end up going 3 and out or stalling. There have been a couple of opportunities in both these games, when it first starts slipping away from us, where I have been really screaming for them to just CALM THE **** DOWN and let Pierre take over and do his thing, and for whatever reason they haven't done it. We have all seen Pierre step up and TAKE OVER games before, with our own two eyes. |
