Cadet getting look at WR
Saints' Travaris Cadet working with receivers this week
Saints |
Re: Hey Cadet might give us some help this week
Suggested this the other week. He has the attributes you want for a receiver... and we were already thin at the position.
|
Re: Hey Cadet might give us some help this week
We need help all around, if he's just a little spark. We will take it.
|
Re: Hey Cadet might give us some help this week
Sounds good to me! Might be just what we need.

Re: Hey Cadet might give us some help this week
As a retired military guy, I like this guy just 'cos of his name! It's fun yelling **** at him on the TV LOL!
|
Re: Hey Cadet might give us some help this week
I think some of this is a slap upside the head of the other WR's.
Hey guys, get open and CATCH THE F'ING BALL". |
Re: Hey Cadet might give us some help this week
Interesting......any news on DH?
|
Re: Hey Cadet might give us some help this week
It'll be nice having a player on our side that the other team can't really game plan for, and I'm anxious to see how he performs.
And to see if he can hold onto the ball. Joe Morgan I'm talking to you also btw |

Re: Hey Cadet might give us some help this week
I'm kinda interested to see if Joe Morgan is "done" or if they try to go back to him again later. Because I know that Sean Payton has this thing where, once you've crossed a certain line, and ticked him off, it's like you're no longer even there, you become completely invisible to him, even if you're still on the team. Mike Bell in the Super Bowl. Reggie Bush on the sidelines in the second half of the Seattle game -- I remember there was a TV shot of Reggie without his helmet on, standing right next to Payton, and it was like Bush wasn't even there, Coach Payton was pretty obviously flat out ignoring him and stonewalling him....that's when I knew Reggie was done here. I remember seeing Joe Horn on the sidelines the same way, in his last days. I'm curious to see if that kind of thing carries over with the other coaches when Payton isn't here, or if this is just a temporary doghouse that Morgan is in.

Re: Hey Cadet might give us some help this week
Can't wait to see him play !
|
Re: Hey Cadet might give us some help this week
Cadet works best in space so if he can get into the middle of the field 5-10 yards from scrimmage I'd throw him the ball all day.

Re: Hey Cadet might give us some help this week
Does this mean colston isn't playing?

I hope Marques plays with a chip on his shoulder, slight injury or not, because he's a better player than he's shown us so far this season |

Anyone want to chip in for some Orange cleaner for him? I'll start w/a dollar. |
Re: Hey Cadet might give us some help this week
I think they want to limit the amount of time Colston plays so he is 100% for Green Bay. I think we'll see a lot of the screen game with PT and Sproles and Lance Moore out the slot.

Re: Hey Cadet might give us some help this week
Isn't Devery back this week as well?

Oh Curtis Johnson, how we miss you!
...and its time for ol' Hank Ellard to step it up |
Re: Hey Cadet might give us some help this week
With devery going deep this week, cadet underneath with Sproles......Bring it
|
Re: Hey Cadet might give us some help this week
Can Cadet play defense?
|
What are the chances he will actually play. If he does I want to pick him up off the free agents list in our fantasy league.

But I doubt Cadet can play D-line. |
Re: Hey Cadet might give us some help this week
hell yeah.... this is a good move.
this guy is a player. he's this year's preseason Pierre Thomas. |
Re: Hey Cadet might give us some help this week
didn't realize the Saint's were that desperate for WR's, not saying Cadet is a bad player but he's a much better RB.
Has Meachem leaving hurt us that bad? |

Re: Hey Cadet might give us some help this week
I guess Roby, Morgan & Moore are no Colston or Henderson. Morgan needs to step up his game, it's not like he hasn't skills.
|
Re: Hey Cadet might give us some help this week
Could be nothing more than a way to get Cadet on the field to see what he can do or just as a threat.
Reverse game would be interesting with Devry & Cadet both on the field. |
Re: Hey Cadet might give us some help this week
I love the fact that the Saints are at least working Cadet at WR. At this point, Cadet isn't exactly the player who will be a starting RB or WR, heck, he is even second team on kick returns. But, a guy like Cadet who is capable of filling in at multiple positions, and can do well at all, seem to find a way to contribute to the team and these guys seem to always last for at least 10 years in the league. Since we all know he will pick up the WR positions fairly easily, how about giving him some reps as the number 3 QB in the very near future?

Re: Hey Cadet might give us some help this week
Granted the guy's got some good moves, but a 4.6 WR? Really?

Lance Moore ran 4.55 and Marques Colston ran 4.52 So basically he's about the same speed as Colston and Moore. |

Saints RB Travaris Cadet a man of many talents | Saints | The Advocate — Baton Rouge, LA
Quote from article: Throw in decent size and 4.4-second speed in the 40-yard dash and it’s easy to see why the Saints, who aren’t exactly short on halfbacks, signed him after he was passed over in the draft this spring. |
Saints looking to use Travaris Cadet as a receiver
According to Gary Estwick the SunHerald.com, New Orleans Saints undrafted rookie free agent Travaris Cadet spent last week learning the wide receiver position, to help himself get on the field, since as a running back he’s currently buried on the depth chart.
If the Saints can install some specific packages for Cadet, he’ll just be another weapon that opposing defenses will have to worry about. At the end of the day, the Saints really need to worry about fixing their defense. Saints looking to use Travaris Cadet as a receiver |
