New Orleans Saints kicker Garrett Hartley off to a good start
An offseason and training camp of competition apparently has done New Orleans Saints kicker Garrett Hartley some good.
After beating out veteran kicker John Kasay in a training camp battle, Hartley is off to a splendid start to open the season. He has made all three of his field-goal attempts, including a career long 53-yard in last week's loss to the Carolina Panthers. "It's always good to get off to a strong start, but at the same time it doesn't change anything," Hartley said. "My preparation week in and week out is the same. I'm going out and getting the reps with Chase (Daniel, the holder) and Justin (Drecher, the long snapper) and making sure I'm striking the ball well."
