There were a lot of specific reasons why the New Orleans Saints imploded Sunday, blowing an 18-point lead against the Kansas City Chiefs and losing 27-24 in overtime. And we'll get to all of them, because they deserve to be dissected after one of the ugliest collapses in the history of a franchise known for driving its fans to wear paper bags over their heads.
But we have to start with the question that's looming like a black cloud over the entire city after yet another loss by the Saints: How does this all tie in to the absence of Coach Sean Payton and the bounty scandal that rocked the franchise this offseason? Players and coaches continued to refuse that as an excuse Sunday. And there is no obvious, direct correlation. However, it is painfully obvious that some link exists. The Saints are now 0-3, and they've lost all three of their games to teams with 1-2 records. New Orleans Saints are obviously lost without their leader, even if they can't point to reason why: First take - New Orleans Saints Football NFL News - NOLA.com Last edited by Halo; 09-23-2012 at 06:55 PM.. |

Zach Strief - "I've never felt more individually responsible for the destruction of an offense"
Well you do now, seen as that LB beat you 3 times for 3 sacks and a safety Our whole team looks lost, strief looks like a turnstile back there, letting everyone hit drew And when drew has a clean pocket he either makes a dumb throw or one of our receivers drops it, jimmy graham f'ed up today and the whole team should be embarrassed with themselves Someone mentioned in chat that the fans were booing, if I bought tickets to the game and saw my team blow a 18 point lead and have a total of 88 yards and no points in the second half, I'D BE BOOING TOO |

Re: Saints Are Lost Without Sean Payton
Strief and Bushrod have always been not so good linemen, where is all the help they usually get?
They're usually getting a chip block help from a TE or back, but I guess Kromer is too busy this year?! |
