How does the REF, using his whistle, blow the play dead 'scuse me. Thought the gist of what I was saying was clearer |

They changed part of by saying fumble recoveries are allowed if the blown whistle does not alter players reactions. Obviously the rule only applies to action immediately after the whistle and not to reconstructing the play as if a whistle was never blown. Blowing the whistle was wrong, calling the ball dead where we recovered it was the correct call. |
Re: Quit blaming our losses on the refs and Goodell
Yeah because 2 things occurred on that play.
Never touched. Loss the ball. The refs if you notice all through that game though, were blowing whistles about a sec before they should have been blowing them. That happened a bunch of times, especially on plays where the player went out of bounds, they blew them before they actually went out of bounds. |

Re: Quit blaming our losses on the refs and Goodell
Is there any chance soon of the "REAL" refs coming back to the league?
The officiating of most of the games this weekend was pretty poor and I don't see it getting much better if they keep this group of officials!!! |
Re: Quit blaming our losses on the refs and Goodell
I'm just asking, did anyone actually HEAR the whistle on that Dexter McCluster fumble play? I usually have no problem hearing all the whistles from where I sit, and on that play I heard ....nothing. Zip. Nada.
If I had HEARD the whistle, I would be like -- okay, no TD, spot the ball, that sucks but at least I heard it blow. But I didn't. Did anybody actually hear it? Was it audible on TV? Please correct me if I'm wrong. I want to be wrong. But I didn't hear it. |

The refs aren't very good and neither are we.

Re: Quit blaming our losses on the refs and Goodell
When they did the replay here on tv, you could hear the whistle blow after the ball was picked up & before he ran it in. I liked how the announcers kept saying he slide & gave himself up so it shouldn't have been a fumble.
