Re: Quit blaming our losses on the refs and Goodell
I'm not going to blame our losses on the replacement refs ... but it's also hard for me to take the outcome of any Saints games - win or lose - seriously at all until the real refs are back.
How can I ever say we deserved to win or lose, when we almost won the game on the KC non-fumble returned by Harper for a TD in OT?! I told my daughter "no, no, we can't win like this". Thank goodness they reviewed it and got it right, even though it took forever. To me this is now like an exhibition season, watching the Saints for fun but I really am starting to care less if we make the postseason. Because if the replacement refs stick around, this season will have a big fat asterisk hanging on it. Who wants to win it all under those conditions?! It would be like winning half a Super Bowl. The sound byte "Don't leave it in the hands of the refs" means nothing. The replacement refs are blowing calls and disrupting rhythm in such a way that very often neither team can get a sufficient lead. If one team gets ahead then the refs will sway things. And then God only knows what they'll jack up at the end of a game. There were 4 OT games this week and how many other close ones?! Do you think that was an accident folks? Nope, more TV ratings and commercial time and Roger and the network execs are laughing all the way to the bank. Like I said, this is nothing more than an exhibition season until the real refs come back. |
