ProFootball Focus - Some Saints Grades

ProFootball Focus (from our friend BigA3723 over at SSR)
Top Overall grades - Saints
Bunkley 5.4 overall, 5.8 run defense, -1.3 pass rush, +0.5 pass cover
Will Smith 3.1 overall, 5.1 run defense, -3.0 pass rush,
Akeem Hicks 2.6 overall, 1.3 run def, 1.0 pass rush
Cam Jordan 1.2 overall, +8.5 run defense, -6.8 pass rush

PASS RUSH grades through 3 games:
Hicks 1.0
T. Johnson 0.8
P Rob 0.7
J Galette 0.7
Shanle 0.3
C. White 0.2

PASS COVERAGE grades through 3 games:
Greer 1.6 - 59 pass plays - 113 total snaps
Galette 1.0 - 1 pass play- 65 total snaps
Harper 0.9 - 93 pass plays - 237 total snaps
Murphy 0.8 - 16 pass plays - 29 total snaps
J. Patrick 0.6 - 5 pass plays - 10 total snaps
Cassillas 0.4 - 41 pass plays - 91 total snaps
So if you take out the 1 play Galette covered on, Harper is our 2nd best player in pass coverage behind Jabari Greer. And keep in mind his stats include the bogus PI penalty too.

I'm surprised that our top 2 pass rushers are Akeim Hicks and Tom Johnson.

Re: ProFootball Focus - Some Saints Grades

Why do they say through 4 games and only 3 have been played?

Sounds like the rest of our D line wouldn't even be able to hang around in the CFL

I know its not true but it is a funny statistic, what with all the 1st rounders we have invested in those positions. Lotta football left tho

Oops, sorry, I meant 3 games. I fixed it. I didn't want to copy BigA's entire post, so I just highlited some interesting stuff.

I have no idea what those stats are intended to convey. What's the scale? What are the comparables?

You can pay the 45.00 dollars to find out, or just go with it.

I'm a disciple of no politician, which makes my political views superior to most.

As far as I understand it a score of 0 is average... above or below that is better/worse. They watch every snap and every player but I'm not exactly sure how the points are allotted for the plays. All I know is that they're incredibly well-researched and accurate in their assesment.

They aren't always correct, but they're better than most.
