Maybe the New Orleans Saints defense isn’t as bad as it appeared the first three games of the season.

The 32nd-ranked Saints defense showed some signs of life in the second half Sunday against the Green Bay Packers. After allowing the reigning NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers to shred the Saints’ secondary in the opening half, things started to click in the second half for the Saints.

The Saints entered the game by allowing an NFL-worst 477.3 yards per game (262.3 via the pass and 215 on the run). The Packers finished with 319 yards passing and 102 yards on the ground, but those numbers could be deceiving.

Rodgers threw for 165 yards (17-for-22) and three touchdowns in the first half, but the Saints slowed down the potent Packers attacking, surrendering 154 yards and just one score in the second half.

More importantly, the Saints gave up 21 first-half points, but just seven points in the final 30 minutes.

“We just came into the locker room and sort of revamped everything, revitalized it, re-energized the defense and got after them in the second half,” defensive end Cameron Jordan said. “You can’t question the effort.”

We still couldn't get any pressure but no doubt our D played better in the second half, those are the adjustments we need to see on a more regular basis

Pat robinsons pick was great

2 turnovers forced in 2nd half and our O Put the gas pedal Down

The Saints defense put the offense in position to win his game, and they failed.

Even without turning the ball over, (although not for lack of trying) this loss goes 100% to the offense.

Saints still don't run enough, and when they do run, it predictable as to the player and where he will run.

I'd have to say, and maybe slipped the refs a little something before coming back onto the field in the second half also. Let's not forget the help they added for us.

Only next week, and the week after that,,,,and so forth will we see if our D is improving. One game doesn't mean diddly squat. You have to get better week by week. Even a blind dog finds a bone once in a while. Let's see next week, then we'll have a better gauge on where the D is.

Our defense WAS improved. It's kinda like this:

Take a steaming pile of dog poo. Take some Old Spice after shave. Put the steaming dog poo in a bowl. Pour some Old Spice on it and stir.

I mean, it's bound to smell at least a little better, right?

That's kinda how I felt about the defense against GB. Definitely improved...kinda...you know...a little maybe...
