As a whole, the Saints' scouting department hasn't really wowed me in recent years. While they do pick up serviceable players on their higher rounds, like Danno pointed out earlier - and I do agree with that list he posted - they haven't been able to pick up guys who would've made a big impact on the defensive side of the ball.

Now, I don't know what the make up of the scouting department is exactly - and don't care to know for that matter - but it seems to me that they've had more success in picking up quality players on the latter rounds of the draft and as UDFA than they've had with the higher round picks, relatively speaking of course.

Maybe Spags will be able to get across to the scouting department what type of players he is looking for and needs in order to make his scheme work, and hopefully that'll result in more successful defensive picks in the coming drafts - because I do hope that Spags will be the DC for the Saints for many seasons to come.

Won a SB going 0-3 in last 3 games of reg season. Why not win after going 0-4 to start a season.

Considering on what I've seen this year, if bye some twist of fate we got to the playoffs this is not the same team that Payton runs, not even close. I'll take the pick and wish for the baddest DT to be in the draft in history, someone you could actually build a D around, there is 1 or 2 that might become great Jordan and Lofton. A nose tackle could do wonders for this team in the long run.
