Saints kick tires on five receivers

by "kick the tires" do they mean make sure their hands can catch and hold a ball?

I dont know anything about the 5 players listed.

Wonder if the Saints will bring in Burress, Chad or TO; probably could sign all 3 dirt cheap!

Rashied Davis plays cornerback/special teams also, not great, but he could help.

Concerned. Bringing in that many tires says a couple are about to be changed due to wear and tear. They are testing out the whole used rack. You only do that if you need something long term.
