You know something.. I was looking at that earlier and even with all the drops we have had in the first 4 weeks, Drew is on pace to break 5400 yards again this year.
And that is with a 57% completion. That has to be taking a toll on his arm life. |

What else do we have with no dedication to run. Of course, no dedication to the run because we are falling behind early. Then again, we are falling behind early because our defense can't stop the opposition. No choice of yet.

Yeah, we've tried running on first & second down. Its not working. Ingram, as much as I would love to see him suceed, gets 1-2 yds everytime. At best we'd be 3rd & 6, if we have no penalties. I'd like to see more sets with PT & Sproles... Both can block, both can run, both can catch. When you talk about mismatches, I think "who really matches up with those guys?"

Yes, the defense has to stop the opposing team but Offense has to give them some rest. And it doesn't happen as often as it needs to. |

Re: Think we figured out where the problem is...
Agreed, we are so predictable in the run game. The only runs of note with any success were the toss play to Sproles vs. KC or the occassional over-achieving PT run where he breaks 6 tackles for a 8 yard gain. Our o-line makes no holes, gets no push off the line and we run the same plays dependent on our personnel in the game. When Ingram is in I know it's an A or B gap dive. When PT is in it's likely an off tackle run, and Sproles is 99% a screen or counter run. I have to agree that we need to make sure we start running unpredictable play calls in both rush and pass when unusual personnel is in. That was what made Sean payton so good.
