It almost sounds to me like Brees read about Gregg Williams going to the Rams game in the paper, and then decided to make Goodell jump through some hoops for him. I don't think any of this happens if it weren't for what the league did with letting Gregg Williams back and planting it in the media the way they did, then Vilma's response to it on Twitter, the Tweets after the Packers/Seahawks debacle, etc.
