Defense please stop doing this!

Feet diving!!! I must have seen this 15X. In a position to contain or make a tackle for a short gain and they give up mass yardage diving for the ankles.

Yes I agree, that is my number one pet peeve. When given the opportunity to tackle someone for a loss or a short gain, we wildly dive at their feet, slide right on by them, and they get massive yardage.

I forgive them this week of course, but if they could not do that in the future, that would be great.

I was gonna post the exact same thing! They need to just wrap up the ball carrier until the rest of the D gets there to gang tackle him!

There's also a rash of missed tackles from players knifing in from the wrong angle. It's about as common as a cold on this defense.

I don't know how else to describe it.

Noticed the ankle tackles, too. They miss then can't stand up fast enough to stop the ball carrier.

You can't tackle anybody while laying on the ground. Unfortunately proper tackling is thaught less en less in the lower levels and its carrying over to the pros. I was watching the Steelers - Eagles game and the Steelers got a bunch of flag because people lead with the crown of their hlmet instead of doing a proper form tackle. All of it is just bad coaching or lack of coaching.

Good point Beast.
While in chat last night, many of us gave those attempts to tackle names.
Defense needs to simply tackle with some aggression. Those reach out an touch, somebodys' hand and make this NFL world a better place for the other team has to stop. They miss so many ,so many times to tackle with the diving approach. The opponent slides by every time.
