It's no secret the New Orleans Saints' offense has been the lifeline of the team for quite a while, and this season is no different. The offense has relied on its strong passing game but has failed to establish the run.
The Saints have only had one game this season with more than 100 rushing yards as a team. Defensively, the Saints rank at the bottom of the NFL, particularly in yards per game. The Saints have allowed more than 400 yards in four games this season, and allowed the Kansas City Chiefs to gain 510 yards of offense New Orleans Saints' offense ranks No. 5 in NFL despite lack of run game: Stats roundup - New Orleans Saints Football NFL News - NOLA.com Last edited by papz; 10-10-2012 at 08:58 AM.. |

Our running game did just enough
PT's heart was shown all night, pinballing off tacklers, loosing his helmet and refusing to go down, then getting a standing ovation from the crowd for his toughess. Thats a real football player right there Soon as PT showed what our run game could do if given the chance, the chargers were done for |

I am confused about something. I heard that Eli Manning was about to break some record for consecutive games over 200 yards passing.
Whoopty Doo! Doesn't Brees have some kind of streak of over 300 yards?? |

Re: New Orleans Saints' offense ranks No. 5 in NFL despite lack of run game: Stats roundup
They pulled Drew in the second half of the 2010 Tampa Bay game at the end of the year, when he had 196 yards. If not for that, his streak of 200 yard games would almost certainly be longer than Eli's right now, Drew is at around 21 right now. If not for that Tampa Bay game Drew would probably be closing in on Dan Fouts' record of 45 as well, I just flipped through some old box score stats and stopped counting at 37 200+ games in a row, not counting that Tampa Bay game.

It is a real record and a real stat but not conescutive if you get my meaning. It is presently held by Bret Favre at 209 games with 200 + yards. It is however not a consecutive record, it is career based.
List of National Football League records (individual) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I have googled "NFL 200 yards passing record consecutive" and cant find out who holds this record. "Seems" like a Giants or Eli fan is trying to make a record when there isn't one. Or find a reason to overshadow Brees's records. According to Florio Eli is at 24. I went through Brees history and he has not had a game under 200 yards passing in the last 24 (LOL) games. He had 196 yards in week 17 against Tampa Bay in 2010. If the NFL does not recognize it which they do not, its not a record. The NFL officially does not recognize consecutive games passing under 300. Page -s9 http://static.nfl.com/static/content...Indiv_2011.pdf In my honest opinion 200 yards passing consecutively is like 50 yards rushing... doesn't really matter. Ths is Florios source: The record, according to the production crew at Football Night in America, is 45 straight games, set by Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Fouts. So Eli is 53% on his way to tying any record and it is news worthy? |
