this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I'm curious, as someone else pointed out, if Mingo is such a dominant player how come he only has 12 solo tackles and a measly 2 sacks through 7 games? I've only seen him play twice this year, so I'm ...

I've only seen him play twice this year, so I'm curious as to why he has such a fine reputation. |

Freak athleticism. He certainly hasn't been dominant this year, but there's a reason why he was being mentioned as a potential top 10 pick. He has trouble keeping/putting on weight. He's probably better suited as a 3-4 rush linebacker in the pros. Doesn't look like a good fit here in New Orleans. Should be a more productive pro player than college.

To be honest, the freakish raw talent is there. Last year he was pretty dominate, for some reason he is having a big time down year. IMO at the next level he is best suited to play OLB in a 3-4 system, to play DE in a 4-3 system he is going to have to bulk up.
