My gut feeling is if he is not good enough to play on one of the bottom five o lines even as a back up then I wouldn't want him. It's clock work, every time someone is let go people think THEY see something in this person that professional coaches and scouts do not. He wasn't cut because he is good. I don't think that anyone has ever been cut because their play was too good for the team.
Researchers...can you find the last person cut midseason that turned their career around at that point. |

What I do know is that the Saints back-up tackles have played terribly when called upon. We've seen that the last couple pre-seasons. The starters go out and the o-line falls apart. Chase Daniel never seemed to have a pocket to throw from and the running backs never had a hole. Also, during the Ram game last year, Charles Brown was a walking turnstyle. It was one of the biggest reasons we lost that game. So all I'm asking is, what does it hurt to check him out? No one is suggesting he's going to replace Bushrod or Strief. If, like you said, he doesn't even make the scout team, then no harm done. |
