What I do know is that the Saints back-up tackles have played terribly when called upon. We've seen that the last couple pre-seasons. The starters go out and the o-line falls apart. Chase Daniel never seemed to have a pocket to throw from and the running backs never had a hole. Also, during the Ram game last year, Charles Brown was a walking turnstyle. It was one of the biggest reasons we lost that game. So all I'm asking is, what does it hurt to check him out? No one is suggesting he's going to replace Bushrod or Strief. If, like you said, he doesn't even make the scout team, then no harm done. |

Re: Right Tackle Help?!? - Bears Release Former First Round Pick
I can't really remember how he has performed in the Bears' games I've seen, but like others have already stated, that Bears' O-line hasn't been good for several seasons.
Now, it could be that their O-line coaching just sucks, because they've had some pretty promising prospects play on that O-line without real success, and I seem to recall that they've tried to play those guys in multiple variations of position duties... and it really hasn't worked out in any of those variations. If Kromer would see him a worthwhile guy to take a closer look at, then I'd be all for it, but my gut says that he wouldn't really be able to contribute in any meaningful way - at least during this season. Still, Strief needs to be a backup and not a starter at RT! |
