Out of the cellar

of the NFC! We moved from dead last in the NFC to 14th!

It is a start.

Hopefully Vitt can help inspire the D, which other than channeling the 2000 Ravens on that goalline stand, still looks HORRIBLE - 513 MORE yards given up.

Re: Out of the cellar

I had just hoped that the light bulb would come on after that goalline stand and that the D would shut them out the rest of the way.

As it was, we were a Bucs penalty away from overtime...

Re: Out of the cellar

Keep in mind, he's never done it against us, but Josh Freeman is known for 4th quarter "comebacks." He's kinda known for it, it's his big thing. We're just not used to ever seeing him do it, because with Payton here our games with the Bucs are usually either 38-7 type blowouts, or meaningless games at the end of the year with starters resting and Drew getting pulled, etc. But to hold them and Freeman off from the comeback in their own house, even if it goes down to the last play, for a normal team that's a real accomplishment. By comparison the Falcons had a kinda similar game with the Bucs last year, that came down to a play or two at the very end in the final minutes, same type of deal, and the Falcons won.

We're just not used to seeing the Saints play the Josh Freeman Bucs without Payton in the wheelhouse. The Bucs gave a tremendous effort at the end but I saw a lot of positives from the Saints.

The defense looked a little better today. Probably cause or lb corp had an upgrade. I like Vilma out there a lot. Our db are terrible. Robinson and Cory white are a joke.

Why we drafted pat Robinson in the first round ill never know, I think he'd be lucky to get picked in the third round never mind the first

Still don't understand why Corey white is starting over johnny Patrick, white is absolutely terrible and gets abused every week, johnny Patrick is way better than him

Re: Out of the cellar

Db is a position where you either have itoryou don't. It's extremely rare for a guy to work on being a good cb. Too much of it is athleticism and instinct at this level. We have one of those. Robinson, white, Patrick are not. Porter was the better out of him and Robinson.

Robinson is terrible. He gets beat up and down the field nearly ever game, yet there are still a handfull who will defend him no matter what.
