You know, the Brees protecting, ground game-hole creating monster!?

He couldn't/didn't help the Bucs get 1.5 yds for a TD!

Either the Saints defense isn't that bad, or Nicks isn't that good!

I think it is the later!

No, Saints defense is bad. Nicks overvalued himself. We were smart enough to know the man wasn't worth that much.

lol, yeah, helps when your average QB release of the ball is 3.5 sec, and the quickest in the NFL at a mind shattering 1.7 sec's. Does not give D time to respond, and blocking looks good because of it.

So he came here, made money he signed for, won a Superbowl... give me a break.

Thank you. This is why I've been saying for years that our line is over rated. Somehow, we managed to run the ball well last year and in 09', but we've really struggled to open holes the rest of the time. And the pass blocking is really weak, particularly at tackle. Brees' release time has unquestionably made his lineman look much better than they are.

We have good guards, but center and tackle have to get better. Getting Grubbs instead of giving in to Nicks' ridiculous demands was a very good move, indeed.

This scenario kind of reminds me of The Replacements when the brothers were one of the best guard tandems in the league, but as soon as one was traded, they fell apart. Only in this case, it happened to Nicks.
