Re: Who to cheer for - Week 8

How can you tell? All of the % are the same? Why would I want to cheer for the 49ers? I actually think cheering for the Cardinals would prove to be a much more sound choice.

other than the obvious cheering for the Saints

Re: Who to cheer for - Week 8

They always list the one on the top that would help a team's chances out by winning.

I think that the logic on games like the 49ers-Cards is that someone has to win the NFC West and with the Niners at 5-3 (assuming a loss to the Cards) and the Cards at 5-3 (assuming a win over the 49ers), would hurt the Saints wildcard chances more since they would have to overtake TWO teams.

If the opposite were true (a 49ers win), then the 49ers are the division fav and the team we would be fighting (Cards) for a wildcard would be 4-4, only a half game ahead if we take care of business against Denver.

WAY TOO EARLY and our D is WAY TOO CRAPPY to take all these very seriously right now - just threw this out there for fun.

We can really worry about this more if we look up around Thanksgiving and we are 5-5 or 6-4 (that's why our most important game has a rating of 3 - the formulas used basically give us no chance of making the playoffs)...
