Long runs a concern for defensive line
Saints vulnerable early against Jets' rushing attack Saturday, August 14, 2004 By Jeff Eisenberg Staff writer By the time the regular season kicks off next month, Saints coach Jim Haslett probably will have forgotten all about how the New York Jets ran roughshod over his revamped front seven in the first half of the team's preseason opener at the Superdome on Friday night. At least for the next week, however, improving the run defense is likely to remain at the top of his agenda. "They got a couple runs on us for big yards, and we missed some tackles," Haslett said. "It's still an area we need to work on." http://www.nola.com/saints/t-p/index...8285546640.xml |

Long runs concern "D" line...
I had visions last night of that bend, but don\'t break defense. Someone mentioned this earlier in another post.
The Jet\'s were driving for a score and Sully gets a sack for 9 yards. Drive stopped. The Jet\'s were drving for a score and Booker intercepts the ball and returns it for 57 yards. Drive stopped. Those two plays one the game and from 2 players we never thought it would come from. I\'m glad Sully looked ok last night. I think he will get better in practice and the next few games. Did\'nt look to sluggish last night in sacking the QB. and where in the hell did this Booker kid come from and why did we let him go in the first place? |

We also held them to 68 yards less than our average of 327 yards last year. Good job Defense.
I know it\'s only practice, but every bit of good information help\'s the teams attitude and our\'s too. |
