This is my own personal rant, if anyone wants to comment please feel free to do so

This is the worst defense I have ever seen in my life, it may be a good scheme but our defenders are dumb, dumb, dumb

They lack effort tonight, they are diving head first into completely nothing but the turf

We are on pace to break the record for pass yards allowed and we have had our bye week, that is pathetic, down right embarrassing

Please resign and take Patrick Robinson with you, fantastic choice by our scouting team, and I'm guessing you can hear the sarcasm

The offense is not without blame, graham looked like crap, we abandoned the run, passed when we only needed 2 yards, then the broncos go onto score 31 unanswered points
Worst I have seen our offense play since 2007, and that was a bad year

I'd rather have no DC than have spags defense

Im just so happy Vitt is back..he is going to make such a difference....to bad the difference was to look more pathetic than the first 6 games.

This game was over when we didn"t convert on a DREADFUL Drew Brees 4th down interception play. Just like we kept the Bucs in it when we started playing Vanilla offence at the end of the game. Yes, the defence is Bad, But this offence sucks also. Brees is all about records, not wins.

Defensive coordinator Spud ****ola needs to go, he proved tonight he's no defensive coordinator.cthe guy has no clue on how to design a defense and Manning new it and picked them apart.

I'm now convinced that talent isn't the problem anymore. Yes we have a few holes but I think any decent coordinator could take this group and look better than what we've seen so far.

We're on pace for the worst defense in the entire history of the NFL. We've got more talent that that.

I hate to say it, but Spags needs to go.

We were all upset when we lost the first 4 games, but at least in those games, we were in it all the way up until the end. This catastrophe of a game, we were never in it beyond the first quarter. Terrible preformance by this team.

Watching the D tonight play as poor as the lowest of teams in the NFL and the O matching the D was bad. Even if we matched the Bronco's point for point it still would mean we absolutely we have no one that has a clue on this D,I gave them 6 regular season games(not including the 5 yes 5 pre-season games) to get their act togather,thats 11 games in all and not a clue. We have no answer or personel to run Spags system and unless we get really lucky in the draft we will have much of the same, it's a crying shame what I saw tonight on the D side of the ball, not 1 player had any fire and looked like beat down dogs,it really pi$$es me off to think of the money they recieve for a pi$$ poor peformance each and every game they have played, to see one smile on camera after a dismal performance is to me unacceptable, there is just no pride from them in my opinion. This D has depended on the O for so long they have got accustom to being bailed out each and every game, tonights game has showed how horrible we truely are on the D when the O is off. Rebuilding that horrible D is going to take someone that knows how to build one from the ground up. I don't know if Spags can do it or not if he stays I wish him the best, but if I were a betting man I would not bet on him with what he has now.

WOW, was that just bad. Not only was the D bad, the whole team once again just sucked. I feel bad for the fans that made the trip to see that.

There is no way to blame just spags. But he is without question a big part of the blame. We clearly have no personnel to match his system, but he needs to be flexible enough to see that fact and adjust. There's no way to make this unit good, with the players we have, but it could be at least a little better. I hated GW's scheme, it was too risky and more often than not didn't pay off. But at this point, I'll take getting burned often over getting burned on almost every single play. In other words... BLITZ!! And keep blitzing, no matter what, because eventually you're bound to get there, and it may just cause a turnover. This four man rush is useless.

I dont blame Spags for the Defense.

I blame the guys we got on Defense because only about 2 or 3 of them truly can understand a scheme.

You wonder why Gregg Williams blitzed so much and kept things simple?

You seeing it, most of the defense needs Gutted.

I've been preaching this all year, Manning didn't even have to get fancy with his audibles tonight. They just ran the damn ball down our throats. If a freakin NFL defensive coordinator cannot even adjust to the run game and figure out a way to stop a simple draw, then he needs to coach pop warner. I'll never give up on this team, I've been there with the good and the bad but this is very bad.

What really upsets me is in the past when we had bad seasons, we usually had no talent. That's not the case with this team, we have all the talent in the world with no
one to coach them properly.

I'm sorry but I have to disagree. Greg Williams defense was way more complex than what we are running now. GW had about 20 different looks a game, all Spags does is run 2 deep zone and every QB in the league slices us up and every RB gashes us. A zone defense is a very simple defense that you learn in middle school. JMO

Even if the defense held one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game it wouldn't of mattered. They had stopped our offense anyway. Total team effort by Denver and not us. At this point yeah I don't think a wildcard place is going to happen. Just as well let Sprags have the rest of the season to get the defense going.!

I know. With Gregg Williams you would have guys moving around, changing position, feigning the blitz, lining up in different positions on different plays, moving around, jumping in and out -- a ton of different looks. Sharper would crouch down like a bird and just tiptoe, walk around back there, creeping, so the QB sees that and goes uh-oh, WTF is he gonna do....This defense all just seems very vanilla, even to somebody with a less than trained eye for defense, it's like they just line up and that's it -- nothing to disguise or confuse or make the other team guess or worry. There's nothing threatening about it at all. Which is why teams march down the field so effortlessly against it.

Obviously I'm going to be in minority here, but I still believe that Spags will be a very good hire. I'm giving him until at least the end of year 2. I'm not where close to jumping the gun after half a season.

And those bits i highlighted in bold, were the key to our superbowl win vs manning

Peyton got comfortable and all of a sudden, we gave him one look so had a play designed for it, and then we'd completely change it before the ball was snapped

Go watch the superbowl highlights, our defense confused the hell out of manning with multiple audibles

spags just let them line up and manning just thought "well pat robinson is there weak link, i'm going to abuse him all day" and he did just that

would we even get anything in a trade for robinson now everyone has seen he's just jason david in disguise?

I didn't watch the game as I was at Game 4 of the World Series watching the SF Giants give my Tigers the broom in our own backyard, thank-you very much, :disgust:, but I saw some of the lowlites of the Saints/Broncos game later on.

I agree, in a situation like this you have to withhold judgement on Spags at least until he's had some time with the Saints coaching staff fully intact. It sucks, and it's supposed to suck, and it makes me hate Goodell and the NFL just that much more ... you circle the wagons, you take the pain, you live to fight another day.

I agree. This defense was bad before Spags got here.

I'm not going to blame this entirely on him because he isn't blowing coverages, missing tackles and getting pushed around every week.

Spags isn't the one missing tackles! Several times we had defenders in position and they missed the tackle. Vilma was lost and out of position all night and I think now you see why Shanle starts. We don't have anyone better on the team.

Once again. NO TALENT what so ever. Patrick Robinson, needs to be gone, Sed Eillis, gone. And every other first round pick we have back there.
NOT only are we the worst Defense in the league. But now we own the worst in the history of the NFL.

Pretty much sums it up

Our offense (even though they had a bad game) has won countless games for us over the years, the last time I remember our D winning a game for us was in 2009 vs jets

I live in Indy and watched the Colts implosion "up close" last year. They played like they didn't care, no effort. I see the same thing in the Saints. I could tackle better than they do!! I couldn't watch after the 4th down fail! Play Chase at QB for the rest of the year. This year is OVER!

That pic Ash has thumbnailed...I remember seeing that on tv last night. It looked an awefull lot like Vitt was calling the plays on D. That picture of him is when our Defense was on the field. Why would he be hiding his mouth unless he was calling the plays. What is really going on?

Sadly, this is what I was thinking last night as well. By the end of the 1st half the whole team just looked like they were going through the motions. Phoning it in. I really did not expect that.

The 4th down fail was epic suckage, but it almost seemed to me like they started to give up even earlier than that, after Deverey and somebody else (?) dropped those 2 or 3 deep balls. Like, oh well, no deep ball, we're doomed, and they just rolled over and the whole team turned off.

I don't know about playing Chase the rest of the year, that's a liiiiiittle over the top, but there was no reason Drew should have been in that game, taking hits and getting thrown to the turf, with the score at 31-7 with 5:27 to play

Our D-Line gets ZERO push on passing downs and can't stop the run either. That is where it all starts.

That was plain bad. I really thought we turn a corner last week. Their were sign from last weeks game that they had. Last night just plain pathetic.

Well we have witnessed last night who this team really is. No run game ( wasted pick on ingram). No Defense wasted pick on Pat Robinson, Sed Eillis, and a handful of others. The list is way to long to list here.
Our Staff on the scouting department needs to go now. Because they have not done their job (obviously) if they are still even here we may have replaced them already. If so maybe we ride out this ***t storm with Spags this year let him bring in his talent he wants to run this d. But still on him ( spags ) no adjustment what so ever. He sucks too. that is my two cents.

I pray our team reads this post, and all the others ones to see how we feel. They suck. I hope they sit in front of their TV's at home and watch the Nfl net, or espn, or anything else and see HOW bad they really are. Because They are rapping us as fans. To be a professional and play like that. They are no talent what so ever. They suck, coaching Sucks. I am not a bandwagon fan this is who this team is. I love them and will always pull for them. But come on how many years do we have to watch us draft a D player and he does not pan out???
WE need to fix this problem in the front office first.

D sucked, but the reason we weeren't in this game is because the offense couldn't convert ****. Um, drops, missed throws, bad oline play. The d gave us several shots before they sucked beyond repair. Our offense did not take care of business.

D looked like ****, big surprise, the Broncos average 28+ points a game before we played them. PLus they have looked like crap all year. The O looked like a ****ing disaster last night. Strief has to go.

BS it isn't a talent issue, because if it wasn't we would have won the GD SB last year

The dude is so sad. Did you see him laying on the ground during that fumble? he was looking right at the ball but made NO movement to go after it.
