Re: Question for the Monday night game.
This is just me but I don't boo anybody, much less my own team. Now, I may yell no at the top of my lungs but I am certainly not going to boo my beloved Saints.
If you want to boo them sell your tickets, pick a winner like Atlanta and go watch them play. JMHO |

Re: Question for the Monday night game.
Alcohol may be a factor. Also the LSU Bama game that weekend may put some people in a bad mood, if that doesn't go well. I think win or lose it's going to be a rather... surly event. And highly inebriated.
But if you're angry at the Saints defense, disappointed, and wanting to see a huge chorus of Boo Birds to come reigning down the minute the defense runs out the tunnel, because you're pissed off retroactively about a road game the week before, well it's probably not gonna happen like that. Unlikely. |

You can bet your paycheck, if the defense sucks it up as bad as last week, the boo's are coming. I can't say I would blame them one bit. |

Like the man said, they know they suck, we know they suck so if you don't want to cheer, just be very quiet, you know, like in a morgue. That would speak louder than any boos.

Re: Question for the Monday night game.
Actually since the discussion has started to shift to fan alternatives to booing, I happen to think that the "Bull****! Bull****! Bull****!" repeating chant is awesome and very effective. If it gets loud enough to get out over the TV, believe me, people in high places start freaking out.
So that might be an idea for all the disgruntled and disgusted fans -- if the fans really want to boo something or somebody, they could get a chant going against the refs, on bad calls. There was one going on in the terrace after the phantom PI call in the Redskins game that very nearly gained critical mass. Yeah yeah, I hear what you're going to say next -- I know there are kids at the games, but we were actually yelling "Bull Jit! Bull Jit!" in our section and kids were smiling. But that's just me: I've kinda had it up to here with the whole "New Orleans fans are so friendly and awesome and hospitable" thing; I know we are, but I'm still angry about Bountygate, and I want the NFL and the networks and everybody corporate, everybody OUT THERE, THOSE PEOPLE who don't like us already -- I want them to hate us and be disgusted by us, to think we're just horrible people in Louisiana, and that the Saints and their fans are a rotten bunch. Why not? They are already revolted that we are standing behind Payton and Vilma, they are HORRIFIED that we refused to roll over, accept their story without evidence and take their penalties like good little boys and girls. People out there ALREADY think we're insane. They wanted us to reject our team, embrace their smears, and side with their accusations, and we didn't do that. They all watch stuff like Duck Dynasty and Billy The Exterminator on TV ,and they think THAT'S REALLY US, that's all of Louisiana, anyway. So I figure we might as well give them what they want, give them something to talk about. |

Re: Question for the Monday night game.
I guess I can't argue with the 'you-paid-your-ticket-you-should-be-able-to-boo' opinion, but IDK, on a personal level, I can't agree with boo-ing the team ... don't cheer, but if you're so ticked off at the team you gotta' boo, stay home. As a fan, the only real voice you have anyway is your wallet, hit'em where it hurts ... don't buy the tickets, don't go to the games or buy the merchandise if they're so bad you gotta' boo.
I'll sit in my living room and watch my teams when they suck, but I'll be damned if I'm shelling out good money for a crappy product, eh? To each his own, I guess. . |
