Haslett and Linebackers
I've been trying to figure out for the last two years how Haslett could have been a linebacker and not be able to scout good linebackers. For that matter, why he doesn't seem to be aware how important they are to a good defense. If anyone has an answer, I'd love to hear it, but for now this is all I could come up with.
Background: Three-time defensive end All-America at Indiana University (Penn.) from 1975-78, and was inducted into College Football Hall of Fame in 2001. Maybe his college days were the "best days of his life" and so he is more in touch with defensive ends. :D |

Hey Trubo, would have to agree on the state of our linebacking corps, with the exception of Bockwoldt and Watson on a few plays they absolutely sucked. The 2 runs that the Jet\'s had for 15 and 17 yards should have been prevented. Just imagine if a linebacker would have stuffed those runs and the Jets would have come out with 30 carries for 85 yards, we would all have our Saint goggles on then.

Its only preseason... not only preseason but the first game of preseason... give them time to address what happen in the game and make some adjustments. It seems they have been concentraing on the rush in that game a bit... give them some time to practice and see what they got.
