Re: Our 2013 Free Agents
I'd keep De La Puente, Olsen, Daniel, Roby, Camarillo, Galette, Bush, Drescher...
I like what Henderson brings, but I'd be concerned about the salary slot vs production... I've been pretty clear about Ellis and Bushrod; status quo at OT and DL is unacceptable... Though Bushrod is not that big a hit; I doubt the salary he'd try to leverage out of the Saints would be worth it... |

Re: Our 2013 Free Agents
I agree that Bushrod will probably want more than he's worth. Let him walk.
Devery, I think will take a hometown discount to stay here. If he will, it's a no-brainer to keep him around. Roby is probably our best special teams player. DLP has solidified the center position and should be fairly cheap. Everybody else can go. I'm not one of the many on this site who has a broner for Junior Galette. |

Re: Our 2013 Free Agents
Not a lot of people on this list make the needle jump of the page like last season. DLP, Devery, Roby would all probably be had for cheap. Bushrod is not elite, just serviceable if he wants elite OT money bounce his ass. Ellis gone.... Shanle..... gone ( PLEASE!!!)

The other no brainers are Smellis and Shanle. Might have to do a "Ronnie Lamarque" dance when they get cut! |

Re: Our 2013 Free Agents
Keep:
DLP Drescher (long snapper should be fairly cheap) Galette Henderson (if he's willing to take a HTD) Ivory (Was an Ingram fan but clearly this is not where he needs to be) Roby Let Go: Everyone else...yes including Daniel...I say him simply for the fact that if God forbid SP leaves here we might as well start looking for our next QB. Brees signed that contract because he thought SP would be here with him until the end. If this actually happens (and God I'm praying it doesn't) I suspect Brees trying to get traded at some point. |

Re: Our 2013 Free Agents
Try to keep every one of them at a salary level that reflects their value. Unfortunately we'll have a lot of vet-min offers that will be rejected. I'd keep Ellis at vet-minimum. He'd never stay for that so bye-bye.
Bring in competition. If they truly suck, they'll have their job taken from them. |
