Difficult yes, but not impossible!!!!
Do any off these teams put fear into you? Seattle, Detroit, Tampa, Minnesota, Arizona
Those are the teams in the way of the wild card. I admit if we cannot beat atl at 3-6 I would say we are done. But if we survive, we would have a favorable matchup against Oakland to get back to .500 and get back into playoff talk. I am not the first person to say this. Actually I heard Sterling sharpe's bold prediction that if we beat Philly then we would make the playoffs. I just don't understand why we as Saints fans have been so pessimistic about this team being able to put a run together. Ok I do understand defense not being able to get off the field, offense giving up 3 and out at the wrong times in games and not putting teams away when leads and ball are in hand. But I wanted to discuss whether most of you thought we had a shot anyway. Btw I'm going to the atl game, yeah!!!!!!! |

Re: Difficult yes, but not impossible!!!!
With 5 losses already and 4 divisional matchups remaining as well as games against teams like San Fran and NY Giants I think it's realistic for fans to question whether we can exceed 5-3 to finish the season. I think it's gonna take 10-6 to grab a WC position personally.
If nothing else I want to sweep Atlanta and punch a few teams out of playoff contention if we can. I do think we'll make a difficult match up for teams who only look at our record coming to face us on their schedule. |

Re: Difficult yes, but not impossible!!!!
Good post by the OP.
Saints are starting to get it together. Vilma's improvement at the Will was a quiet, yet important development. Now that the D-line is gaining confidence, and Spagnuola is mixing up his schemes, I think we'll put in a pretty decent performance vs. the Falcons. And don't forget that the running game is starting to fire-up, and that's huge! WhoDat! |

Re: Difficult yes, but not impossible!!!!
I am remaining optimistic but I am no longer getting my hopes up for this year. So much has happened and it has become painfully obvious how much we need our head coach.

Re: Difficult yes, but not impossible!!!!
This season is probably a wash, but still have 8 games left and I am looking forward to them all. If the Saints can manage to get to 9-7, at the very least it should keep them in contention for a playoff until the end.

Re: Difficult yes, but not impossible!!!!
A small part of me wants them to make a run and win it all but realistically that's wishful thinking. I think it's better to throw in the towel and use this season to explore new schemes and ideas and keep the W column low to get a good pick.

I just don't understand why we as Saints fans have been so pessimistic about this team being able to put a run together. We are still missing Payton and we look way too sloppy. |

[quote=Rugby Saint II;455412]Yeah I agree. Defense still scares me and Brees is running for his life on most plays. I hope we go on a nice run to end the season, but if we don't, it wouldn't surprise me. We need Payton back.

Re: Difficult yes, but not impossible!!!!
I hope Ivory gets the call again this week! He played well for us in the last game and his attitude and commitment are very good. He always gives it his best effort! If he can keep healthy and not give up the ball he will be a great asset for us for the rest of this season!
