Key matchup: Falcons QB Matt Ryan vs. Saints pass defense
In today's Key Matchup, we take a look at the challenge awaiting the Saints' pass defense in Week 10, when Matt Ryan and Co. will visit the Superdome.
Key Matchup: Falcons QB Matt Ryan vs. Saints pass defense Coming off its best performance of the season, the Saints’ 32nd-ranked defense faces a much tougher test in Week 10 test than it did in Week Nine vs. Michael Vick and the Eagles. After all, Falcons QB Matt Ryan is an MVP candidate for good reason. With a blitz-heavy, attacking approach, New Orleans allowed a season-low 13 points, scored its first defensive touchdown of the season and made a season-high seven sacks vs. Vick. Is this a sign of things to come, stylistically, for the Saints’ “D” or did defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo just happen to take full advantage of a struggling quarterback with a leaky offensive line? Re: Key matchup: Falcons QB Matt Ryan vs. Saints pass defense
This... more than any other area, has me concerned.
It will be a big test, for sure. But if, repeat, IF the Saints can have a very good performance vs. what is arguably one of the best, if not THE best receiver tandems (plus Gonzales) in the NFL... it should be a tremendous confidence-booster for our boys. That will go a LONG, LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG way in our playoff stretch run. Well, I, like most of you, am still hoping for the best for the New Orleans Saints! WhoDat! |

Oh its a key match up alright...
A master key for our lockdown defensive backs. Prediction: We make Matty ice look almost as good as Romo this Sunday. |

I say keep up the pressure. No matter what we do we are going to get torched at times. May as well do so with the potential to cause a play in our favor. We have proven against everyone we can't get 4 man pressure and sitting back just let's them pick us apart. Even if we lose, seeing Ryan rolling on the ground will make it easier to take.

Saints D is giving away more real estate than the Land Run of 1893. The calls, the turnovers...even with that it may still not be enough. I'm just hoping they can at least keep it close in the first half so they can keep running the ball. If they can do that it could swing in our favor.

Guess taking the lesser of the two evils, would rather get torched by the passing game versus having Turner ram it down the Saints throats. We already know the Falcons should be good for 450 yards, hopefully the Saints can limit the amount of points they score. GEEZZZZZZ
