I just wanted to dedicate a thread to watching, and talking about our game to game chances, and who has to win or lose for us to make it.
Seemed to be some confusion, and would be nice if we could all post in one place about how things change threw out the rest of the season.

Needless to say, we need to beat at least
49ers
Giants
Falcons
Bucs
to move up the charts, and hope they lose other games. But we are in a ok spot I think, and all of those teams are very beatable for us. Key target is Seattle's spot at 6-4, very doable if we beat the giants, and Seattle has a few loses with our 4-5 record.

Saints proved that pigs could fly in 2009.
Now its time for another miracle SuperBowl and go where no pig has gone before.

We are still alive, but if Tampa ,Seattle and Minnesota keep winning is bad news for us . I dont even want to mention anything about Detroit,Dallas or Arizona... its such a grey area at 4-5 anything can happen .

We need to pull for every AFC team when they are playing a NFC team.

I agree, LOL, my second NFL team is now the AFC.

Cool stats ,seem to be logical % to me, just click the Explain under What If, gives us a
playoffs
100% 11-5
92.5% 10-6
37.7% 9-7
2% 8-8

To Win Title at 11-5 is 1.1% , lol.

Best 1st round opponent is the Giants at 33% chance

New Orleans Saints Playoff Chances - Sports Club Stats

NEW ORLEANS

The argument for: The Saints just knocked off the NFL's only unbeaten team, their fourth victory in their last five starts. So they're gaining momentum. Plus, Drew Brees is on top of his game again, with 18 touchdowns and only four interceptions in his last six starts. These guys believe they have the talent to reach the playoffs, and they do. I mean, they just beat the best club out there. The only question is: Did they wait too long to make a move?

The argument against: Defense. It stinks. In fact, there's nobody worse, with the Saints ranked last in yards, 31st vs. the run, 31st vs. the pass and tied for 28th in points allowed. After this weekend, the Saints' next month looks like this: San Francisco, at Atlanta, at the New York Giants and Tampa Bay. As I said, they might have waited too long to make their move.

The bottom line: The Saints have a chance because they have Brees, and he and his teammates appear to be on a mission. Nevertheless, they've made the job so difficult that they can't afford to lose more than two more games. Can that happen? Sure. Will it? Look at their schedule. It's going to be tough.

I like the Saints chances of making the playoffs. They are one of the few teams that are actually improving in the NFC. GB, Tampa, and the Seafoams are the other three. I'm not even sure what scenario I should root for though. Tampa has yet to play Atlanta. Maybe a split? Very difficult to say right now.

Re: -=New Orleans Saints Playoff Picture=-

If we beat the Raiders this week we are one game behind the Seahawks and Vikings (and possibly the Bucs if they win this weekend), both who are on bye this week.
The last six games we only have to get one more win than those teams to go to tie breakers, 2 more and we are the 6th seed out right.

If saints go 5-2 and the Seahawks/Vikings go 3-3, we are in for sure, Saints go 5-2 and the Seahawks/Vikings go 4-2 and it's tiebreakers time.

We only need one spot, and that is the currently occupied by the Seahawks. I think this is right.

I'd bet money on the Saints going 5-2 over their last 7 over the Seahawks or Vikings going 4-2 over their last 6. The Vikings schedule is brutal.

Re: -=New Orleans Saints Playoff Picture=-

Very interesting, Falcons have a lot of injuries

ATLANTA FALCONS

The Falcons have a star-studded cast of players listed as questionable for Sunday’s game with Arizona. Receiver Julio Jones, who has not practiced all week due to an ankle injury, highlights the list. If Jones can’t play Sunday, the Falcons likely would start Harry Douglas and use Drew Davis or recently signed Tim Toone as their third receiver. Linebacker Sean Weatherspoon (ankle) did not practice all week, has missed two straight games and is listed as questionable. In the cases of both Jones and Weatherspoon, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Falcons take a cautious approach and sit them, especially since the game is on turf and against a struggling opponent. The Falcons also are listing defensive end John Abraham (back) and running back Michael Turner (groin) as questionable. But both participated in Friday’s practice on a limited basis.
Playing the cardinals with the #5 ranked defense that beat the Patriots and us.
FOOTBALL OUTSIDERS: Innovative Statistics, Intelligent Analysis | 2012 DEFENSIVE EFFICIENCY RATINGS

We know how badly they played against our defense. This might be a upset in the making with a low scoring game. Moving them down the charts to 2nd seed if the Bears beat the 49ers, who wont have Smith playing.

Making SF 49ers 6-3-1, and if we beat them 6-4-1, and the Saints 6-5

You're even generous giving them 2 wins. I see 1, if they're lucky.

Vikings seem pretty doomed, I agree. Which brings into play that we might have to hope Falcons beat the Bucs, unfortunately. So we can move into their spot. Only other 2 teams that can get a win on them is US and Denver.
Im not worried about getting Falcons in the playoffs, they are the best team we could get to move forward to the 2nd round.
