Hey Saints, Congratulations. No, really. We mean it.

Thanks to a resurgent running game and a defense which sets the NFL standard for bend but don't break, you guys have won four of your last five games and climbed back in the hunt for an NFC wild card berth.


The Saints are back to .500 for the first time this season since... well, since before the season. While it might be a tad early to send out those e-invites for Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans, you can stop drafting resignation letters. The House the Sean Payton built might just survive the season.

The Saints (5-5) appear to be a team whose destiny, while still shaky, is once again in its control, and that's all any player wants.

"This is our season, this is our team, and we have to fight for every game and point, and nothing's going to be given to us," defensive end Cameron Jordan said Monday afternoon, the day after the Saints won 38-10 at Oakland.
