Somewhere, in the darkness of the night, a plane moved across the sky from San Francisco to New Orleans. I can imagine Drew Brees staring into the darkness that enveloped the plane, mulling over the plays he wish he had back against the 49ers in their playoff tilt. Shortly following that loss, albeit a couple of minutes or a few days, Brees, along with the rest of the Saints, promised themselves and each other not to give up on this team. Through it all, the Saints have shown a tremendous amount of audacity. It feels as though the Saints have lost more this season than the Detroit Lions did in the 80′s. Somehow, the Saints have seen their way through it all and finally have a chance at getting above .500. The San Francisco 49ers come into town on Sunday boasting one of the best defenses in the league. The 49ers are 2nd in the league in yards allowed per game with 277.7 yd/g, with only the Steelers ahead of them. The Niners also lead the league in points allowed per game, only giving up a paltry 13.4 per game. That’s amazing! But wait a minute, let’s delve a little deeper into that number and we’ll see how deceiving that is. In five games this season, the 49ers have held their opponents to 7 points or less. Take a look at the numbers and the stats.

Not bad. A lot of selective stats but very interesting.
However I doubt we score 38 on the 49ers without a defensive TD and/or a special teams TD. I hope the players don't think this will be as easy. |

Yeah we got a good defense. Good stopping the pass and run and not allowing many points.

SF has played off and on all season, so your defense is very beatable, especially with the Saints offense that has remained constantly elite for 6 years. Its not going to be easy, but we have blown out elite defenses before, same as we carved up your defense last year. Im sure its just the Bears game that makes them think that, and thats just silly vs the #32 pass protection OL in the NFL. Buy the way your OL is #31 in pass protection ![]() |

I reckon we do not get 38 either.
If we can hold them to 20, we stand a very good chance. To the game. |

Re: Saints vs 49ers: What They’re Not Telling You
Good read, but our D still has to show up period!! Someone on the D has to catch fire and set the tone for the others to feed off of, Denver made the D look like school kids and thats the D I'm scared of that could show up at any time. If we win it has to be a great effort on both sides of the ball, not just 1.
