The New Orleans Saints injury report should be a lengthy one considering how injured the team was going into the San Francisco 49ers game Sunday, how beat up the Saints were after the loss to the 49ers and the short week as they take on the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday.
The Saints will release an injury report by the end of Monday as the team is only three days away from playing the Falcons. Interim coach Joe Vitt did give a couple of details, though, during his Monday morning press conference on the injury front. Vitt said starting right tackle Zach Strief wasn't close to playing against the 49ers as Strief missed his third consecutive game with a groin injury. Vitt said he does feel like Strief could be close to playing Thursday in Atlanta. Vitt also said tackle Bryce Harris (lower leg) won't play in the Falcons game after sustaining an injury Sunday. Harris was on crutches and had his right leg heavily wrapped in the locker room after Sunday's game. The likely scenario is that Harris will end up on injured reserve as Vitt said the Saints will work out some offensive linemen Monday because of all the injuries. Tackle Charles Brown (knee) missed Sunday's game and may not be ready to play in Atlanta either. The Saints were down to their fourth right tackle as William Robinson played most of the Niners game as Harris sustained his leg injury in the first quarter. Well I'm definitely concerned. And some of it is because of injuries.

Wow, we're down to our 4th string RT, a position that was the weak link to begin with. We're bringin in scrubs off the street to audition? Not good.

The Saints are beat up physically and beat down emotionally. I just don't see any way they can match the Falclowns in Atlanta on Thursday. The offseason, losing their Head Coach, and the 0-4 start looks like just too much to overcome. But, if they can come out, get some momentum, and quiet the crowd, it's not impossible. Then, they'll get some rest to run the table on the last four. WHO DAT!

And obviously Jones will be a factor this time. It's a huge challenge.
