Re: New Jump on the Brees Fault Bandwagon
He has played awful last two games, but scouting high school qbs? A little extreme. Watching him on the sideline, it's obvious that no one feels worse about his performance than he does. He's the reason our expectations are so high. There was a time when we would have been ecstatic about our current record. He probably gets too much credit when we win and too much credit when we lose. Problems with dline, oline, bountygate; problems all the way around. We are not the Jet fan nation, we are the Who Dat nation. Let's support our WHOLE team and give them a chance.

Re: New Jump on the Brees Fault Bandwagon
He didn't have just two bad games.
Washington, Carolina, KC, and Denver were horrific. 6 games out of 12. And he is worse in the second half than the first, which is terrible considering we're usually losing because the first half was miserable. |

Think about it... Is it Brees fault for having a horrible game, or was it the coaches (or lack of) fault for not pulling him. Atlanta didnt beat us, we beat our selves, and even the best players need to be saved from their own destruction from time to time. |

That being said, I'm gonna' consider how the 31 other QB's in the league would perform without their H/C and the level of interim coaches Brees has been asked to play under this season. So, in effect, I don't think you punch a ticket for the 'Brees Fault Bandwagon' just yet. |

Impossible to prove and a very improbable claim at that. Maybe if Brees wasn't re-signed, but without that money saved on not re-signing him not having been available to the FO for some reason. I still do think that the Saints would've won more than a single game this season even if Daniel would've been the starting QB - if anything, it would've forced Carmichael to concentrate more on the running game, and maybe the Saints would've become a run-first type of an offense with Daniel, for which they definitely would've had the group of backs for. Still, I don't think re-signing of Brees was a mistake and I don't think that he was overpaid by the FO - and I do believe the Saints have a far better offense with Brees on the team than without him. ...these past two games just have really tested mine and probably many others' belief in his ability to make the right decision on the field in clutch situations and what has been even more concerning is that his accuracy has been off far too many times for it to be considered an anomaly. :-( |
Re: New Jump on the Brees Fault Bandwagon
I think the only people that think Brees sucks are other team's fans.

Re: New Jump on the Brees Fault Bandwagon
If Payton were the coach last week don't you think he'd have countered with a few "running QB" plays with Chase? Vitt has that John Fox "WTH is going on?" look all the time.
