The more teams you put in a playoff, the more teams that will be **tching every year that they should have been in it. In fact, 4 teams is already too many. Every year you have a couple teams saying they should have been number two, and now you're going to have about 5 or 6 teams, at least, saying that they deserved to be somewhere in the top 4. This is not the NFL, where you have 32 teams divided evenly at 16 for each conference. There are 120 teams in division 1 alone, and that leaves a lot of teams with similar or identical records. You can't have all of them in a playoff, because it would create way, way too many extra games.

Case in point, the NCAA basketball tournament had 64 teams. Every year you had a butt load of mediocre teams whining that they got left out. Now there are 68 teams. It's completely absurd. And the saddest thing is that it hasn't slowed down the whining even a little bit. The more you expand, the more teams you have thinking they deserve to be in, and the worse the product becomes.

But at least they don't play a brutal sport... Football is, and so this new system is stupid, and it WILL NOT fix anything. College football is different, and people never should have messed with it, IMO.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

BCS is the biggest crap the world of sports has ever seen IMHO, who ends up playing for the national championship should have nothing to do with how people vote but how you play on the field. There are 11 conferances in the NCAA FBS right now and then you have the 4 indipendants Army, Navy, B&Y and Notre Dame. I'd make a 12 team playoff, the winner of each conferance and the best independant and go from there. Win your conferance and you are in and the all bets would be off. To me that would be much more exciting.

Then there can still be Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas, Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl, American Standard Concealed Trapway Cadet 3 Right Height Elongated Toilet Bowl or whatever the hell they are called for teams not making the playoffs. However fact is that there is 35 bowl games at the moment and a lot of football fans could't care less about them. teams with 5-7 records were recently made bowl eligble under certain circumstances.

W.T. Sherman is my favorite General. After all he did order Atlanta to be burned to the ground.

If i had the opportunity to go to a bowl I might like them more bu now to me they are utterly meaningless. I am only interested in the national championship.

Just an observation... I believe some of our backfield used to hit hard in College also... Lets see what those guys do in the NFL...

Its one thing to crash a 5'11" 200lb college back its another thing to throw your self at Steve Jackson or Adrien Peterson.

Yeah, I only go because it's right down the road ... day after Christmas, it's usually a game-day decision depending on what I got going on ... it's not like you can't get tickets ever, .
