Riley's future with Saints remains up in air
Mike Riley has been working on getting his Saints secondary ready for Sunday's game against the Vikings, but he has had a busy 36 hours working on his future. Riley had interviews in New Orleans with UCLA, Alabama and Kentucky. It sounds as though he should get one or two offers. The athletic director at Kentucky worked with him at Oregon State. There is some momentum to hire him at UCLA. Riley probably could have had the job at Southern Cal last year but the Chargers wouldn't let him go because they wanted to have him finish the season as their head coach before being fired
it has been reported that the Alabama job is his if he wants it, Haz was quoted as saying that riley wants the weekend to think about it [Edited on 13/12/2002 by pakowitz] |

Riley's future with Saints remains up in air
I think the Saints need to be careful with this one. I see McCarthey getting a head coaching job next year. With that Riley could step right in as offensive coordinator and not miss a beat. I think this is something to watch

Riley\'s a west coast boy.....color him gone. And McCarthy should never be a head coach in the NFL.
