As a saints fan are you proud to live in this generation?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I'll say it, I am not. I would love to have been born in the 1920s and live the simple life where all these distractions didnt exist. But the downside to that was there was no saints football and chances ...

I'll say it, I am not. I would love to have been born in the 1920s and live the simple life where all these distractions didnt exist. But the downside to that was there was no saints football and chances are I would have had to wait until my 80s to ever see them win a sb. However there is the chance I would never have become a saints fan as I didnt become one until 04 when I was 23. While I am proud to be a saints fan, I do wish things were like the old days.

Yes I am proud to live in this generation. Any generation earlier and I would probably already be dead, since life expectancies were about my current age of 48.

Real sports fans want to live in 1300's Mayan civilization. Where you could watch the Mayan Ball Game.
The winners of the game were treated as heroes and given a great feast. The penalty for losing a game was unusually death. The leader of the team who lost the game was killed.
Now you know those guys were giving 100% on the field, and being a free agent was terrifying

Well I had to live through some bad seasons to get to this one. Still, during the the 70's, I had a blast even with the Saints sucking.

Alexander Graham Bell invented/patented his phone in the late 1800s; so the telephone was a relatively everyday feature to most Americans by the 1920s; however, you would have been SIOL if you wanted a cell phone!

Residential air conditioning was available in the 1920s, so depending on your economic status, you had an option for that.

You wouldn't have even known what a laptop was in the 1920s, so how could you miss something that didn't exist?

What an asinine topic! "As a Saints fan are you proud to live in this generation?" One of the greatest moments of my young life was watching the Saints win the Superbowl and watching them dominate in seasons since.

Re: As a saints fan are you proud to live in this generation?

I can't say I'm exactly proud to be living in these times , but wow, they sure are interesting and with the way technology has exploded, I just can't see myself living in an earlier time. My dearest fantasy and that of so many others it to take what I know now and be reborn and start over from babyhood. If we can keep it together and not destroy ourselves, the possibilites of what mankind can achieve are nearly limitless.
