Will Saint's Again, be a Buzz-Saw This Week?
Maybe Tampa had already accepted the minimal odds as impossible of making the playoffs. Oddly, the Saint's still have the most miniscule playoff chances, though I think an ancient Mayan God might have to come down from heaven to make that happen!?
But Dallas had better hope the Saint's with the switch turned on don't show up this week. I've seen this phenomenon in greyhound racing. Sometimes they throw good dogs of all grades in special Stakes races, contests running over four races, usually about two weeks. The "D," "C," and "B," dogs race with the "A" dogs, and when and if they are eliminated, they go back and compete with the lower grades they came from. Usually, when they go back to a group of lower grade dogs, they run away with the first race, if not that, the second. So the principle involved here is, when you play with better teams, then get dropped down amongst the lesser teams, you end up excelling. The Saint's had played very good, and in-form Atlanta, San Francisco, and the Giant's who managed to have an on week. Don't ask me what is up with the on/off nature of many teams this year, you figure it out. But the Saint's suddenly found themselves back with an ordinary Tampa, who figured they were out of the hunt for the playoffs, and "Bam," it was embarrassing. So, Dallas, you'd better hope it's worn off, or that as they do sometimes, they forget to turn on the switch this week, or your playoff hopes will soon be dashed also. |

I seriously doubt the Saints will dominate the Cowboys like they did Tampa.
I am more worried about how the offense will perform than the defense; the Saints have won games when the defense didn't do much more than get in the way of the opposing team. The Saints lost a golden opportunity by losing to the 3 division winners; if they won at least one of those games, the Saints would be in the playoff discussion. |

Our defense got lit up by Tampa early in the season and then completely shut them out last week
Defense has shown improvement, anything could happen vs cowboys but we all want a complete blowout again |

I would love the Saints to hang a 50-burger on the 'boys, but I just dont see it happening; a Saints win, yes- blowout, No.

Yea, I think Dallas being in the hunt will make them play harder--and I see I was off about their scant chances, they are out of the playoffs. I read that somewhere, and it must've been an old article--didn't seem right when I heard it. Even if all the other teams managed to end up with an 8-8, and the Saint's the Giant's won, right?
I'm not so up on all the tiebreak conventions, but I think head to head is the first one, right? But I do think they might do it this week too. |

I would play for that 50-50 myself. They have a real chance of at least a 50-50, so that's worth the effort. |

Re: Will Saint's Again, be a Buzz-Saw This Week?
I beg to differ on the Saints improving. Getting better the last three games of the season is not improving considering it has 0 implications. They have failed to improve their positon all season of threatening Atlanta. Never even got close. Some teams will lie down and take it at the end of the season. I don't think the Saints are one of those teams but as far as improving, big picture, they have been the same team all season. You can look at certain players and say they have come around but look at when it's happening. It's happening when improving doesn't matter a hellava lot.
