Saints aren't in the playoffs....so whose bandwagon are you on?

Welp, the stupid Vikings won in Houston so even though Brees & Co took care of business in Dallas, they only have one more week left of the Lost Season of 2012 and that's it. My question is simple: what team's bandwagon will you now jump on during the playoffs? I don't mean it in an unfaithful way but it's nice to have someone to root for in January isn't it, even if it's not the Saints this year?

For me: I think I'll be rooting for the Broncos. There's the Manning connection to NOLA naturally, but also the fact that he embarassed our joke of a local team this year, and the amazing nature of his comeback. The dude is just playing amazing football right now. And plus, they're an AFC team so it's not QUITE the sports bigamy I'd be commiting rooting for an NFC team. I couldn't front run and be a 49ers fan, for instance, especially now in light of their recent history with uis.

So what say you? What team will you adopt for January?

Honestly I will not be watching after we dispose of the Panthers next week.

I will break out the 2009 playoff games and SuperBowl XLIV and watch them.

If forced to pick, I would prefer that the Texans win, but will basically be happy with anyone except the @#%$#@^%$# 49ers winning...

The classy thing would be to stay with in your division and root for your rival. Which I do - Next up for me would be Houston (because they've never been) and Minnesota because they have never won.

Re: Saints aren't in the playoffs....so whose bandwagon are you on?

I will be doing the same thing I always do outside the NFC or whenever the Saints are eliminated - I root for the GOOD GAME philosophy in the playoffs. I don't root for any team, I just want to see a freaking GOOD GAME. Given any random game on TV I will tend to pull for the underdog, but when it comes to the NFL without the Saints in the mix, I just want to see the Falcons lose miserably, and everything else I want to be a really good exciting game.

Re: Saints aren't in the playoffs....so whose bandwagon are you on?

I will have a hatred for every team in the playoffs. I will hope especially for the Falcons, 49ers and Patriots to lose, but I don't care who wins it. When I was a kid, for some reason I used to pull for the Packers in the playoffs when the Saints, as always back then, didn't make it. I don't know why. I know that I hate the Packers now. Which reminds me... I hope the Packers lose, too.

Houston. They have a connection with the Sai9nts. When Kubiak came on board he modeled their franchise after the Saints. So I'm pulling for them.......kind of an extension of the Saints.

TheOak 12-23-2012 05:42 PM

The Saints.

My colors don't change to belong then change back to belong again.

Any team playing the bird droppings!

They got their one annual chance to play in the Superdome; they should have taken pictures when they were here earlier!

I like Denver (because of Peyton) and Baltimore well enough.

However, what I will really be waiting for is the fall of Atlanta. We don't need no water let the mother *edit* burn.

I forgot to re-affirm my allegiance to all of you rooting AGAINST Atlanta in my OP. Don't worry, I hated Atlanta even before I converted over to being a Saints fan so yeah, one and done again, baby! Down with Atlanta.

I would like to see the Texans go all the way.
Which other team? I don't know.
I know which ones I would not like to see and they are: AtlFalcons, NE Patriots and a few others.

Some new team. Fun team. Exciting.

Seattle. They remind me of us in some ways. They're a small market that get's pretty much ignored and their fans are rabidly passionate about their team.

Plus they got screwed out of a championship when the refs stole it away from them against the Steelers a while back.

Re: Saints aren't in the playoffs....so whose bandwagon are you on?

I personally don't believe anyone is either "changing colors" or, "quitting on us" if they root for another team, as long as we are out of contention, so go for it. That being said, i hate every team thats not the New Orleans Saints, so I root for no team, other than ours. I hate the seahawks (since I live in Washington) so I would like them to lose. I will watch and I will gamble quite a bit (but never on our team). But ya gotta kind of like that Luck dude, they kinda have something going on. And finally, I hope the Falcons 225 to -6 in their first playoff game.

I`m going with Broncos in AFC and Seattle in the NFC, I really like their secondary.

Not watching the playoffs. It's hurts to much, but seeing ATL lose their first playoff game will make me feel a lil better.

Re: Saints aren't in the playoffs....so whose bandwagon are you on?

I'll loosely follow the playoffs, it's more about the viewing parties et... from here on out. Time to catch up on all the stuff I let slide throughout the season. It's an opportunity to watch a game and not really care about the outcome.

Denver, New England, Green Bay, Washington - Yes
Seattle, Houston, Cincinnati, Colts - Maybe
Minnesota, SFran, Baltimore, Falcons, Cowboys (if they make it) - No

... and a Cyndi Lauper video probably won't convince me to change my stance,.

Houston doesn't have a chance and I'm glad I hate them.

Looking like the Seahawks are the team to beat in the NFC.

Atlanta's not going anywhere either.

Between the Seahawks and the Packers.

Re: Saints aren't in the playoffs....so whose bandwagon are you on?

I made up my mind after the Seahawks were given the most undeserved "victory" of all time, against the Packers, that I would pull against them the rest of the season. Plus, I think Pete Carrol is a tool bag. I don't know how I forgot to mention how much I hate the Vikings organization earlier in this thread.

Like I said, I hate every team that will be in the playoffs :D

Re: Saints aren't in the playoffs....so whose bandwagon are you on?

Well, I'm gonna geaux negative and say who I'm not pulling for...

Nope - too many, it's easier to say that I'm pulling for Payton Manning...

and even that's complicated cause I hate the Broncos; same thing as with Eli and the Giants...

There's isn't a team I like in the NFC; used to love pulling for the Pats - even though I can't stand Belichick or Kraft - but Pats definitely have put together one of the top organizations in sports...

Damb-nabbit - This is really awful...topped off with the Falcons as the One seed and the 49ers, Redskins, Seahawks, and maybe Vikings are all in - just terrible...

Have the Red Sox ever finalized the Napoli contract?!?

I like to pull for a team without a ring. Go Houston!!!

Teams I hate... Atlanta, San Fran, New England, Minnesota, Baltimore, Dallas. As long as these teams aren't in it, it'll be fun to watch for me.

I used to hate Washington, but its hard for me to pull against RG3.

The matchup I'd like to see the most is Houston-Green Bay.

I'm also an underdog fan so I wouldn't mind if it ended up being Indy vs Seattle.

True dat. Almost any non-Saints non-Falcons Super Bowl, when it's team with no ring vs. team with "already got a ring," I will tend to unconsciously root for the team that's got no ring. No Vikings, though. I don't ever want those crybabies to have one. Houston is a pretty good "no ring" team to root for, having been in the divisional shadow of Payton Manning for so long.

Re: Saints aren't in the playoffs....so whose bandwagon are you on?

Definitely want to see a Broncos-Seahawks matchup in the Super Bowl. Or maybe the colts... (slim chance) but I think Peyton manning deserves his second ring this year. Remember when fools were picking the chiefs to win that division?!?
So, broncos because Peyton is my favorite QB after Drew, and Seahawks because Pete Carrol is my favorite coach after Sean. And the Seahawks have the best uniforms in the league, if you don't like em you're too old school.

To hell with that! Anyone but Atlanta. Once they get knocked out I won't give a damn who wins, but as long as they are alive I will be pulling like hell for whomever they are playing.

In my little NFL football world, here's my list of things that would disappoint me the most

1-The Saints not winning the Superbowl
2-The Falcons winning the Superbowl
3-Can't think of anything else really.
