It remains unclear exactly when and how Greer suffered the injury, but he was not able to return.
Greer was replaced at cornerback by Elbert Mack, while Johnny Patrick filled in as the third cornerback.

The Saints entered the game with free safety Malcolm Jenkins (hamstring) and nickel back Corey White (knee) having been placed on injury reserve last week.

"It's always tough losing Jabari," Patrick said. "He's our best corner. He's our leader. Guys had to come in and try to step up. It was a tough situation. It's the NFL, everybody has to be ready."

It wasn't an ideal situation for the Saints, who yielded 416 passing yards. Without the option of moving the injured Greer on Dallas receiver Dez Bryant, Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo routinely threw to Bryant, who torched Saints starting cornerback Patrick Robinson for nine catches for 224 yards and two touchdowns.

Elbert mack is the only CB we have that i have the slightest bit of trust in, all the others are turrible, just turrible

Except maybe Corey white, he played well before he was injured

Depth on an already subject defense is tough and at some point get's exposed, like yesterday (well actually all year). We are truly blessed to have an exceptional offense and sound "work ethic". Lot of teams would have folded, glad to see our fire......Pretty psyched about next year.
