Payton's already turned this franchise into a winning program. That took him one season. Superbowl? That took him a whole three years. What makes you think the Saints would't be playoff contenders next year? All he'll need to do is tweak a few positions and you've got the NFL's top ranked offense (again) and a top 15 defense and - BAM - just like that Atlanta is crying for another 5 years!

I didn't see it coming but god damn am I thrilled. This speaks volumes about our team and city. He could have gone anywhere he wanted and made a blank check but chose to stay here and continue the winning tradition. Awesome.
