Awesome! But what I want to know is this: if Goodhole voided the original contract due to language, then why was it approved in the first place??

NFL front office with attorney's voided the original because it was contingent on Mickey Loomis staying as GM, otherwise Payton could break the contract if loomis left or was fired.

All this contract has to do is not include stupid language like that.

It seemed quite some suspicious language in the original contract.

I can easily see why. If you have a guy that you have a great relationship to and work well with a clause ike that would kinda add pressure on management to keep that guy, or fire you both, a double edged sword.

I have no problem on the other hand seeing why the NFL specifically the owners wouldn't approve on this. They wanna be the ones deciding who to keep and who to let go on the management level of the teams.
