Saints picking #14 or #15

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Maybe the front office should trade all the picks and concentrate of FA's. They seem to excel at that....

Fortunately we'll have a shot at an impact player this draft with #15.

Especially OT, DT/DE, OLB

Re: Saints picking #14 or #15

I'm not a big one for following the draft, so cut me some slack. From what I can gather, the Saints seem to be able to develop their late round picks? So, I'm okay with trading down, but I do know there should be a couple legitimate DE/CB choices still on the board at #14/#15 for this draft, so either way it's looking good.

The good thing is it looks a pretty good draft on both the offense and defensive lines. The not having a second rounder is a real kick in the balls.Being able to take a OT,DT,DE in the first three rounds would have sorted a fair few holes cheaply and for a number of years .

Well it comes down to the Saints board. If they have 5 standout players rated the same, try to trade down 4 or 5 spots, get one of your impact players and an extra pick.

If there's only 1 standout player, pick him.

Yep, I accept that.

My simple motto is pick the best athlete. Can't determine measureable differences between a few and with the Saints having so many needs (defensively +) then Danno strategy numero 1 works.

2013 NFL Draft order: Kansas City Chiefs own No. 1 pick - NFL.com

now this stinks!

Projected team needs

Tampa CB FS WLB DT ROT OC

Panthers DT CB WR

well well well aint this a fine mess we find our selves in.

Welcome to the deep end of the "Potential/Upside" pool

Now comes the question what team falls in love with one of these players?

OR who is the best player on the Board? my bet it will be
Chance Warmack, G, Alabama

Which teams have picks to burn?

Traded Round 1 Picks:
St Louis gets Washington 1st round pick (Robert Griffin)

Traded Round 2 Picks:
Miami gets Indianapolis 2nd round pick (Vontae Davis)
Cincinnati gets Oakland 2nd round pick (Carson Palmer)
New Orleans forfeits 2nd round pick (League Penalty)
Cleveland forfeift 2nd round Pick(Josh Gordon Supplemental pick)

Traded Round 3 Picks:
San Francisco gets Carolina 3rd round pick (Frank Alexander)
Miami gets Chicago 3rd round pick (Brandon Marshall)

hmmm this is the rest of the order set so far
13. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-9)14. Carolina Panthers (7-9)
15. New Orleans Saints (7-9)
16. St. Louis Rams (7-8-1)
17. Pittsburgh Steelers (8-8)
18. Dallas Cowboys (8-8)
19. New York Giants (9-7)
20. Chicago Bears (10-6)

now go and

get back to me on the dreamed up moves from new years eve.

We stink at 1st round picks. Drop down and get more picks. Jenkins, Robinson, Ellis, and Ingram are not stellar players like they were hyped up to be. Jordan is ok, but no show stopper either.
