Re: Brees will replace RG3 in the Pro Bowl
name the pro bowlers,,,then in the week before the SB, have the 2 conference championship LOSERS play on a neutral field(London or tokio perhaps)...Winning team gets an extra 3rd round pick

Re: Brees will replace RG3 in the Pro Bowl
I can remember being in the Navy and stationed at Great Lakes. One Friday night...I think it was Friday, could be wrong...me and a couple of guys from the base drove into Chicago to old Soldier Field and watched the year before NFL champs, Pittsburgh, play against a group of senior college all-stars. Yep...believe it or not...they use to do that. I don't think the all-stars ever won.
BTW...around midway through the 3rd quarter the skies opened and rain was coming down in buckets. One of the fans ran out on the field after a play and slid a long way. This induced another, then another...eventually the field was covered with people. They ended up calling the game and this was the first time I ever saw any football game called because of weather. It was definitely the right thing to do considering who was playing...just never saw it before. |
Whether you think you can or think you can't...you're right!

Re: Brees will replace RG3 in the Pro Bowl
LB, I remember reading about those games. You're right the Pros always beat down the college stars, as they should. Even if you took the worst NFL team today and put them up against Bama it would still be a whooping. It was a pointless game, much like the PB is today.
I'd rather see a skills test weekend. Fastest, highest jumper, strongest, longest kick...make it voluntary and anyone who wants to compete can. Mix in a few of their best plays as filler and you have a good show, one that people would actually be excited to watch. |

I will probably watch - the way Goodhell is running the league the ProBowl is a little glimpse into the future of how all NFL games will be played.
