PLAYER SAFETY=HIPOCRISY

Roger Goodell seems to have shielded his bounty investigation with player safety. Let me ask all WHO DAT fans what they think of this. A player that is suffering from head trauma will not be allowed to play if it is diagnosed by a doctor. But a player like Robert Griffen III can play even though any doctor not connected with the NFL would have not have allowed him back to work with the knee injury he recieved during the execution of his job. So the NFL and NFL doctors allow him to play to a point that he all but destroys every ligament that holds his knee joint together in a playoff game. Was it just for the ratings...or did the NFL care that he would have to have invasive surgery to repair injuries that were there but definately not as bad as they were after the playoff loss. If you ask me the NFL and the Redskins should face penalties for conduct detrimental to the league and player safety. I know there are going to be naysayers that say players play hurt all the time but in a time where the NFL claims they want to protect palyers...what happened here? Roger is full of excrement and we all know it. If we are going to pick and choose when we uphold safety standards shouldnt we protect players from all serious injuries.

Will never fly with coaches and organizations.

Knees, ankles, shoulders, etc - that's one thing. "Head trauma" - now that's another thing.

One repairable to an extent, the other not even close.

Remember all the crap Jay Cutler got just a few years ago for not playing on a "sore knee"??

Re: PLAYER SAFETY=HIPOCRISY

RGIII was cleared to play and he did... Until he was hurt and couldn't play anymore. There really is nothing more to the story than that.

Re: PLAYER SAFETY=HIPOCRISY

It was evident after the 1st half he should have not gone back in.

NFL = Big Government

No one wants the league deciding mid game who can play and who can not.

Shannahan's debacle: Take RG III out possibly lose and get roasted by the fans and press for not leaving the best player in, or leave him in and take a chance he gets hurt, which would leave us 8 months to fix....

Now you know why he made the choice he did.

Re: PLAYER SAFETY=HIPOCRISY

If you had enough foresight to realize that this was a contact sport, a college degree in just about anything hedges against that odd knee or ankle. That's why the league is only focusing on the head, because there's no recourse to that injury.

If it is against Goodell and you can make an argument to slam him, I'm right behind you!

Re: PLAYER SAFETY=HIPOCRISY

I like WhoDatNJ's point.
I agree RailBoss.

I agree with all of youa s well. Head trauma=no repair.
Joints, ligaments-maybe career ending. Maybe repaired with metal plates whatever. Maybe walk with a cane one day or can detect the weather, LOL!!
You can function very well with anything other than head trauma.
