From the NOLA article:

Yeah, Shanle was probably told to actually play like he belonged on the field... explains why we didn't see him on the field during the latter half of the season. And anyway, why is he commenting on this like it was something that affected him... his playing days in New Orleans are over! |
Re: Spags Released
Most mock drafts I've seen have Mingo going top 10, think we have a realistic shot at him?

Exactly! :-D Did Romeus play any 3-4 DE or OLB during his time at Pitt? I ask this because I don't follow any College football, and I'm too tired to start an internet search on the topic. |

By all accounts Shanle is a very smart player and will likely be a very successful coach one day. I totally respect his opinion on X's and O's. Too bad he's about as physically gifted as a punter. |

I've seen him blow too many assignments and drag the players around him down for too long to have any respect for him at the moment... but maybe that'll change once he's no longer "our" problem. |

Re: Spags Released
it could be that Sean had a lot of time to do research and found that teams that run the 3-4 include the Green Bay Packers, Baltimore Ravens, Indianapolis Colts, San Francisco 49ers, Washington Redskins, and Houston Texans. That is half of the playoff teams, to include the two super bowl contenders.

He often recognized that someone else blew their assignment and he tried to recover for them, and was mistakenly blamed for a coverage he wasn't responsible for to begin with. |
