Rob Ryan
It seems that former Defensive Coordinator of the Dallas Cowboys Rob Ryan is still on the market after all after he and the Rams parted ways saying a there was just a difference in philosophy. So Rob Ryan is back on the market. So the question now is who would we want to see run our defense now. Romeo, Ryan or someone else. What do you all think.
Rob Ryan will not run St. Louis Rams' defense after all - NFL.com |
Re: Rob Ryan
Oh snap...... Crennel ? Ryan.... ? hmmmmm
|
Re: Rob Ryan
Rob Ryan's mouth is bigger than his accomplishments.....pass
|
Re: Rob Ryan
I wonder what happened that broke that deal down. I am pretty sure they knew what kind of defense he ran before all this started. I am thinking some sort of personality clash myself.
I kind of fear another big mouth, crazy defensive coordinator, but I guess we could do worse than him. Kind of hope that our choice is someone out there who is quietly brilliant that we haven't thought of yet. |
Re: Rob Ryan
Dunno. His defense was last in the league with turnovers. They only had 16 and total defense was ranked 19th. Considering the talent on that D, thats pretty bad.
|
Re: Rob Ryan
Romeo Crennel please
Rob Ryan has a big mouth and Payton knows it |
Re: Rob Ryan
yea i think i would still go with Crennel, i never really like Rob Ryan.... then again i hate the Cowboys with a passion so that might have a little something to do with it
|
Re: Rob Ryan
Romeo Wherefore Art Thou?
|
Re: Rob Ryan
I hope it's not Crennel, I've had it with the Shakespearean references already.
|
Re: Rob Ryan
Hope it's not Ryan. I don't care much for him at all.
|
Re: Rob Ryan
Crennel, then Mangini, then blowhard
|
Re: Rob Ryan
i may nave issues with crennel but they are nothing compaired to ryan. passssssssssssssssssssss
|
Re: Rob Ryan
If the choices are Crennel or Ryan, of course you gotta' go with Crennel. Ryan's a sideshow.
|
Re: Rob Ryan
If Ryan is even on a short list of candidates, I hope he is dead last on there.
|
Re: Rob Ryan
Ryan did do good in Cleveland of all places, I thought at some point he would be up for a coaching gig, he then went to Dallas and with the talent they had, did really nothing.
So I dont know. |
Re: Rob Ryan
Thats it... I am calling it Rob Ryan will be our DC.
|
Is Payton the type of coach that hires like-minded coaches (yes men), or is he willing to hire someone that's maybe different and willing to challenge him in order to make the team better?

Payton may just take over the defense and take his genius to a whole new level!!!:saintsfan: |
Well we all know how the relationship between payton and gw turned out AFTER the bounty scandal. But i don't remember reading or hearing about any differences between the two before that.

Re: Rob Ryan
We had one prima donna in G Williams...the Saints do not need another in Rob Ryan. PASS, IMHO.

Re: Rob Ryan
The only thing I like about Rob Ryan is that he kinda looks like "The Dude". Take that for what you will...
|
Re: Rob Ryan
I think Ryan can add some fire and intensity that we have not seen since the 09 season. He may be a big mouth but that can also be a motivator. I think a lot of hate on here is because he coached for Dallas.
BTW does this sudden loss of interest by the Rams maybe have something to do with some behind the scenes goings on with Williams? |
Re: Rob Ryan
I think ryan could maybe light a fire under R players on D... Ryan had a lot of injuries on that D this year n they still wasn't that bad....
|
Re: Rob Ryan
If we are considering hiring someone of Rob Ryan's stature, then we must also ponder the possibilities that arise from engaging Snookie and Carrot Top.

Re: Rob Ryan
Rob Ryan has a great passion for the game that I enjoy. He does get carried away but SP could bring him back to reality. Moreover, he knows the 3-4 very well and has had success as a DC. There is a myth that he had some amazing talent in Dallas, this is not true. In Dallas he had no good DLs, 2 good/great OLBs, some no-name ILBs, two overrated CBs that have potential but get talked up too much and no good cover safties.
Ill take our DBs (yes, they play well in man-man but spags showed us they suck in the zone) over Dals Ill take our DLs over Dals Ill take our ILBs over Dals |
Re: Rob Ryan
On Espn today they were saying that Saints are waiting for the season to be over so they can talk to the Niners or Ravens DC for the job.
|
Re: Rob Ryan
No way.... I don't think he can even fit in the Mercedes Benz Superdome. He'll be taking Emeril for all his food money.
|
Re: Rob Ryan
I have a soft spot for old Buddy. He was one of my favorites so I always wanted to see his kids do well. They just were dropped on their heads too much. I don't put a lot of stock in Ryan's time in Dallas. He didn't get much of a shot and they were decimated with injuries. Take away two of any teams top 3 defenders and things get ugly.
If he lands here I can live with it. |
Re: Rob Ryan
@uck no, we dont want to sell tickets lets get a good DC here for a change.
Frinkin offense been carrying this team for 6 years and im sick of it. Get a decent one, no fakes or big names. |

Re: Rob Ryan
If they hire Rob Ryan make sure you put in his contract.
1. Coach the defense 2. STFU up 3. Win Super bowl 4. STFU up I'd still rather see someone else |
