You need the dramatic pop stars doin the halftime show so that the Super Bowl appeals to everyone, not just football fans watching the Super Bowl. A bunch of people turned on CBS last night to watch that ****, I don't think that would happend if it were... Skillet. #ratings/money boss!!!

I just don't believe that a halftime show makes that much of a difference. If someone isn't interested in the game, they're not going to watch it just so that they know when a 10 minute performance is going to be, and if it's just going to be some jiggle show that only appeals to men, they're an audience that's already going to be watching the game anyway. I wish the NFL would abandon the show and just play the game.

Of the 9 people I watched the super bowl with, 4 of them only tuned in for the halftime show. It's not for the people that are already watching the Super Bowl, it's for the people who could care less about to super bowl but might turn to that channel to watch the halftime show... At least that's why I think we see so many beyonce, Janet Jackson, black eyes peas halftime shows.
If the halftime show was for the dudes watching football together, there either wouldn't be one or it would be metallica every year for one song.
